coolgovind180
hey all, I am planning to purchase 2 FTX regions( not decided yet but mostly, FTX NA PNW and FTX NA Southern alaska)..... I already have FTX global base 1.30, FTX global vector 1.20 and Open LC europe 1.00 installed along with the latest FTX libraries ....As of now everything is running just perfect with no major issues. Now i have some enquiries prior to installing FTX regions: 1. Is there any patches to the FTX region that i mentioned about or will it be sufficient to just run the FTX PNW or alaska region directly downloaded from the flight sim store? 2. I have already configured my FTX insertion point as told in the guide after installing Open LC EU. That is the only requirement prior to installing FTX region right? 3. After installing FTX region, and when i open FTX central, is it the correct preocedure to choose that FTX region in the list and click apply after enabling hybrid if i am flying in and out of that FTX region? 4. Should i run Vector AEC auto configurator tool after installing FTX region ?? I have read the user guides but these questions are just to confirm prior to installing. Thanking you govind
kiwi stu
Hi Govind. This is what I do and I always have 100% success. Let's do PNW first . Create a folder on your desktop.call it what you like. Extract zipped PNW to this folder Go to folder, right click on application and select run as administrator. Follow instructions per installer. **dont worry about presetting FTX Central before doing this..the install procedure will get you to update as required** When install complete you load the patches. Go to support page..for PNW there is patch 5 and Patch 8 Download both and extract to your desktop folder. From the folder right click on each one and run as administrator . Follow installer instructions Make sure you do first patch 5 and then 8. Then run latest Libs Then last of all run the AEC Vector auto config tool. The next step is purely what I do and not written anywhere but once again I have 100% success doing it this way. I next defrag my Fsx drive then I close down my system and reboot When system up and running i go to FTX central and select what area I want.. And then go flying. Repeat for SAK SAK got 1 patch..number 3 As I said in the beginning..this is what I do and it works for me..I cannot speak for others. Good luck Stu

Good luck Stu Stu, One caveat--don't defrag your FSX drive if it's a SSD. But your procedure is spot on. Stew

Stew Hey..yep forgot to say that..I defrag my drive which has FSX on it which is not an SSD...but a standard drive.I never defrag my drive which holds my OS which is an SSD. Thanks..forgot to mention that. So depends on your rig setup what you do. Probably don't have to do it,but I do cause I'm just being a bit anal I guess. dominique
The regions you chose (PNW and NCA) come already patched. Do not patch them. Just open the zip you downloaded and let the installer do its job !
