Stillwater Posted September 5, 2014 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Just a little collection of flights when I was working my way northwards from Chile. Over the Atacama desert... ... and approaching La Paz El Alto Intl. The origin of the name is easy, the altitude is over 13000 ft! Coming from the south I was ordered to land on the 28 but with an approach over these mountains from the north, followed by a 270° left turn. Quite a challenge! Starting in La Paz is not easy either. I did not manage to get a Twotter flying, so I had to take a jetplane... Titicaca Lake. Great nature here, waiting for Open_LC SA... Approaching Cuzco. Located in a mountain valley - the next demaning landing. For the following flight to Lima I took a more suitable plane. Not so easy to manage the balance between engine temperature, cloud layer and the mountains blocking the way. But a pleasure to fly!
