Anthin Delahunt
I am currently facing the horror of the dreaded FSX reinstall. What I would like to know is the correct way to approach this. Do I uninstall all my Orbx sceneries, Airplanes, addon other airports and sceneries first? Als what is the best way to uninstall orbx sceneries? With apogoliges for being an old dumklutz I have not have to do this in a very long time. The reason for the reinstall is I installed the two files for embseries in the fsx root folder and they just vanished! Thinking that went down like a lead baloon, so oh well. They did install as I found out and also they do not work in DX10. I went to install Steves latest fixer and got the warning you have embseries installed and if you install the fixer fsx will crash. Tried it anyway and yep. Five minutes flying and CTD. So down as I was flying with sliders nearly maxed and as smooth as silk. Hoping for some help. Regards Anthin. keino333
Remove all your enbseries dlls. Then uninstall Steve's DX10 Libraries. close out Steve's Fixer and restart it. Install the libraries and if you want to have the enb effect go to sweetfsx for DX10 http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/sweetfx-shader-suite-download.html http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1089/ install ...following the instructions AFTER the fixer libraries and not before. Bruce Hamilton
You were told what would happen, and you did it anyway?
Anthin Delahunt
EMBseries were installed before I found out they were a problem with DX10. No need for sarcastic comments. What I was asking was clearly stated in my post. It was about uninstalling .

Anthin Delahunt
ENBseries solved. The guys at SOH have been helping me no end and finally this morning the problem was solved. No need to reinstall and DX10 working like a charm. The files extension was ticked and was not showing in the FSX root folder. Unticked it and Voila! That is where they were hiding. Killed them stone dead. Anthin

Matthew Kane
What I do is reinstall Windows7 when I do an FSX reinstall. That way I have a fresh install of everything. I have as follows C: drive is a 500GB SSD with Windows and FSX D: drive is a 500GB SATA with all my personal documents photos etc E: drive is another 500 gb SATA with all my downloads and purchases and backups etc. So when I do a reinstall I just do a quick format of C: and reinstall WIndows then FSX. I usually do this every 9 months to a year and can do it all in one afternoon at this point.
