gandy
Depending on how you have your sim and hardware configured its quite possible to see low fps like that.
jdonner
Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. I don't think I have an issue, I'm just wondering why they designed it this way, it makes no sense.
gandy
Well fsx is cpu bound so the more powerful cpu you have the better the fps will be. Somethings can bring your sim down when displaying clouds like AA Super Sampling.
MarkH
Why are the frame rates dropping like this, when my game is paused and I'm just staring at a static image? It's not a static image. Depending on exactly 'pause' does, you have at best subtracted out all the dynamic simulation work. The 3D view is still being calculated and animated in real-time. Note that you can still pan the VC view when in 'pause' mode.
Benny
I'm no REX user and I guess this is why I'm none using it. Cloud texture are... more texture that the computer as to ingest. ASN is very FPS friendly with stock cloud texture and I'm happy with those. Ben
