R00033 - Incorrect Traffic Flow on Single Lane Roads

High Iron

Recommended Posts

I  just noticed this, and hopefully others can confirm this.

On single lane roads, vehicular traffic is moving in the same direction on both sides of the road. There is no opposite direction traffic. I'm seeing this on all single lane roads. They are behaving like double lane one way streets. I'm not sure if this was done on purpose of or not.

Thad

Hi!

As you can read here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc707102.aspx Microsoft didn't include the option for traffic in both directions of a road. Here's the excerpt:

The direction of the traffic is specified in the shape file:

F = traffic moves from reference node (one direction, cars drive away from vertex 0 towards vertex N).

T = traffic moves towards reference node.

Note that the entry B ( both directions ) is not implemented.

  • 2 weeks later...

The same behavior is noted in the ORBX "Iceland Demo" also...

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/72551-iceland-road-traffic/

So with FTX Global Vector (P3Dv2),  as I understand it, we get one direction traffic on a single vector undivided highway.

And if I am using an ORBX Region like NA PNW (P3Dv1.4),  I have two way traffic on the same highways.

So I imagine this is currently a difference that will be seen between the Vector "global" product versus the "detailed regional" product.

Of course, future tweaks and changes in updates may change this.

Cheers, Ray
