spud
Noticed this while flying near Cache Creek today. In the FSX map view the area that appears as ice and snow is dirt but in the sim it appears as the screenshot shows. Sorry for the screwed up link but Photobucket has changed so much since I last used it I don't know how to post a screen shot on the site.

Holger Sandmann
Hi Spud, that's the gigantic tailings pond of the Highland Valley Copper Mine and our saltpan texture was the closest approximation as the sediments really are very bright; check Google image search. Cheers, Holger
spud
Thanks Holger, just caught my eye because it was so bright I thought it was snow/ice texture. Funny thing when taxiing on the surface you get both dirt dust and ice debris kicking up behind the A/C so I just had to ask. Back into the cockpit for more outstanding ORBX/Global scenery.
