RESOLVED Celtic tiger? Lol... Ireland (Republic of) texture question

On a flight from Dublin to the southwestern coast and back I noticed something weird... The Southeast Asia rice-paddy textures showed up in large parts of central Ireland and also just to the west of Dublin.

 

 

In the pic you can clearly see where two of the texture regions meet - other parts are not quite as readily recognisable because some mixing seems to have taken place.

 

I guess this is a basic FSX problem of originally using the same textures both for central Ireland and large parts of Asia? Or did I get something messed up?

any coordinates available ? would make it a wee bit easier to double check the issue

Hi Wolter - just head on a course of about 240° for a few miles from Dublin. It's spread all over the place...

OK, went on a expedition for you

here the results of that, had to crawl into a tube for that

and yes the repetitiveness is the default LC call from fsX there is still so much to iron out from the basic fsX..................

Strange. You're not getting the "rice-paddies" in your pics. I'll try a satellite image and some coordinate-pics later on when I'm back at my FSX PC...

If you are getting rice paddies showing it is likely some other landclass causing it.

Not surprised there are 'paddies' in Ireland - where else would you find them

It was the freeware DublinX airport.

 

 

 

Don't know why, but that really changed things...

 

Switched it off and Ireland was back to its green pastoral beautiful self.

maybe a bit of searching by disabling some of the files could resolve the issue for the surrounding terrain
