I get this error once I complete the download of my Pacific Northwest pack and go activate it.

Hi there,

 

those errors typically indicate that Service Pack 2 (or Acceleration) for FSX hasn't been installed, which is a prerequisite for almost all add-ons these days, including ours.

I don't get the error anymore, however it seems the add on isn't working. Do you think maybe I should re install everything?

Ok.  it appears that FTXCentral is 'locked' on default.


 


If you have not already done so, update FSX to Service Pack 2 (or Acceleration).


 


Restart FSX


 


Make sure that you have installed the latest Service Pack for FTX NABlue (PNW.005), available from the Support downloads page here, as well as the latest ORBXlibs version (which should patch your FTXCentral to fix the error message)

The error has gone away however I don't really notice any difference in the scenery. I have installed this once on another computer with no problems.

Have you installed ORBXlibs and the patch as described.

Make sure to reapply the region in FTXCentral afterwards.

Having done those things, we might need a screenshot in the region coverage area to see what is happening.

Here is a in game screenshot of the region if that is what you mean. And yes I have done all the above.

With FTX Central set to North America, do you have the FTX block of entries in your scenery library menu, including FTXAA_ORBXLIBS and FTX_NA_PNW05... to FTX_NA_PNW08... ?

I have it set to North America in FTX Central, but I don't quite understand the second part you said there.

This is fixed by installing the latest Orbx libraries patch: http://www.fullterrain.com/support.html#orbxlibs

 

After you install it, open up FTXcentral and cycle to [Default] and back to [North America], pressing 'Apply' each time

That error means there is something is activated in your FSX scenery library, but the scenery folder/addon it points to is missing or removed.


 


To hunt it down, browse to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX and look for Scenery.cfg, open this up with Notepad and scroll down to [Area.115], you'll then have an idea what it is thats missing.


 


To resolve, go to your FSX scenery library and remove whatever it was you found in the scenery.cfg.

KBVI (Beaver county airport?) this is in Beaver falls Pennsylvania, and therefor is outside of the PNW coverage area (by quite a bit I must add!)

 

Try loading up your simulator someplace within the PNW region coverage area, such as KPAE Paine field

 

If you look in FSX/ORBX/User documents you'll find a PNW coverage area KML, you can open this up with Google Earth (free) to view a very very detailed map of the PNW region pack
