Stewart Cumbers
hi just a quick question - loving ENG and cant wait for the SP1 to fix the issues however i notice that the seasons are quite abrupt e.g january is showing heavy snow - even when there is no snow. is this a fix that will be sorted or is it just have to put up with it cheers stewart
Ronski
Hi Stuart, There is a lot of snow in January, no need to put up with it, just change the month to February as a work around for now. Ron.
Ian Routley
Seasons in FSX are coded by month. A by-product of this is that there are fairly abrupt changes from Hard Winter (snow) to Winter. At this stage, this is a limitation of the engine we are working within.
jd_jay
I have a question regarding this that I forgot to ask when I mentioned about these snow textures before. If we say set the month to February to get away from the hard winter, if it should snow when say running REX real weather, do the ground textures change to snow covered as necessary? Holger Sandmann
Hi jd_jay, indeed, ground textures will change to the hard-winter variant if the local weather includes active snowfall, regardless of the month you're flying in. That behavior is hard-coded into FSX. The only downside is that this doesn't work for photoreal areas included with any of the Orbx regions meaning they will remain in their current state. Cheers, Holger
