dmrich28 Posted July 9, 2008 Share Posted July 9, 2008 After landing in Ceduna for leg 13 of my adventure (pics later, it was a "forced" night flight btw), A gentleman approached me and asked if I knew anything about real estate, which after a breakfast meeting with him he showed me a piece of land for sale...actually it was an entire ISLAND!! This peaked my interest immediately and told me more about it.... His initial question and description to me The location.. A couple of real pictures he showed me He told me there were several other offers on it, so I decided to take the very next flight back out to Hobart But that I'd be back in Ceduna to carry on in less than 24hrs..(no pics of flight back, I'm in over my head as it is) I rented a little ultra lite and took the 13 mile or so trip to check it out myself. It was actually a bit larger than I thought A bonus as well was Lagoon Bay wasn't far to fly my larger aircraft from..I'm close to making up my mind.. The price..I'm filthy rich so it looked ok to me I BOUGHT IT!! and it's landable and re-named it lol Well that's it for now..any one want to make a private strip for me?? Or maybe I'll try myself someday, and get Instant scenery and start building too.. IS is very cool though, try adding a marina, a small hotel (gotta get revenue from somewhere) and then if you're really brave create an airfield. Still not sure what to do about a landing area yet. A warning beacon (not sure if I like this one yet) My early hanger My dock My little lodge My livestock Those that have done this for awhile give me any pointers please Couldn't find the camp fire like in the Blue mission Devs, I've been just saving this to the default Instant Scenery bgl, is that going to affect anything with your releases in the future?? Someday I'll have to learn strip making, but I'm not I have the patience. I'll probably only have the one hanger and swap the one on top with the other near water, I like the checkered roof better Got rid of that ugly warning beacon and put a lighthouse there, even though I don't think it works, so I put another lite tower at other end Dave Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

dmrich28 Posted July 10, 2008 Author Share Posted July 10, 2008 what I'm eventually thinking of is claiming a maximum of 10 areas for the entire country and use them as "home" bases but they can't be strips already done..and don't have to be islands. They would be completely fictional. I wish making strips was easy, but until I get the patience to learn it I'll have to make due with very rough but landable areas.
