Building new computer

Hi,

After some years of break I am back to MSFS.

I am trying to complete my new machine which at the moment has:

- CPU: i9-10900K

- GPU: Asus Rog Strix RTX 3090 24GB OC

- MB: MSI MEG Z490 ACE Gaming

- Storage 1 (OS) : M.2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus

- Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic

- PSU: Corsair RM1000x

I still need some advices for:

- RAM Memory: 3600 CL16 or 3200 CL14?

- Storage 2 (MSFS): Is Intel 660p 2TB a good M.2? I ask about this one because it is one of the cheapest with 2 TB... I would like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus but it is really expensive...

- Cooler: AIO 360 mm is for sure, but which one? Kraken Z73, Corsair H150i, Coolermaster, Lian Li Galahad 360, Arctic Liquid Freezer II, another one?

RAM: if both options are based on Samsung B die then either will be equally good. Gskill even makes 3600MHz 14-15-15-35 1.45V kit, it’s highly binned kit so price is high.

Storage: for MSFS I would ditch M2 for regular SATA, Samsung 870evo 2TB or even 4TB, only difference will be loading time (ca.20sec more over M2) there is no fps gains having faster drive.

Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II

How do I know that both options are based on Samsung B die? What is it exactly? 3200 CL14 is 14-14-14-34 but 3600 CL16 is 16-19-19-39. It is difficult to find 16-16-16-36...

I see that many people votes for the Arctic Liquid Freezer II. However it is a very cheap one. Do people vote for relation price/quality or it is absolutely the best comparing with Lian Li, Coolermaster, Corsair and Kraken, even the most expensive ones from these companies?

Timings are telling You if it is Samsung B die or Crucial or Hynix. 3200 14-14-14-33 and 3600 16-16-16-36 are B die for shure. You can allways check here https://benzhaomin.github.io/bdiefinder/ or even here https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/threads/die-ultimative-hardwareluxx-samsung-8gb-b-die-liste-alle-hersteller-10-05-21.1161530/#lstH.C second link is updated more often.

Cooler is cheap not the best but very good, and quiet too.

Do I lose performance if I go to 3600 16-19-19-39? I cannot find b-die...

Not much, if You don’t plan overclock RAM, I wouldn’t worry about that. I have 3600 16-16-16-36 but I overclocked it to 3800 CL16 by rising voltage from 1.35V to 1.45V and tuning rest of timings.

I am planning to overclock RAM... Should I buy 3200 CL14 instead of 3600 CL16?

Yes, Hynix and Crucial will loose good timings when overclocked.

3200 CL14 are in general expensive, except G. Skill Ripjaws V... Many people say this is less good than Trident Z kits... Is it true?

And all of these memories are already coming with 1,35 V... How can I overclock them?

On Samsung B-die You rise voltage, max safe is 1,5V and then rise frequency and tune timings, don't know about Ripjaws but Trident Z 3200 14-14-14-34 should reach 4000MHz CL18.
