Milviz P.180 EVO Installation Issues

Recommended Posts

Good Evening.

I just recently purchased the Milviz P.180 EVO through Orbx, and installed it to Prepar3D v5.1 using Orbx Central earlier today (which automatically installed the Milviz Dependencies, too). Unfortunately, once installed, I encountered a few (though severe) issues. When the aircraft loaded up, the engines, while running (and making sound) were not animated, and the propellors were stationary. As well, when increasing the throttles, the aircraft responded, but the throttles in the VC did not move, and, more bizarrely, the aircraft was moving "in-place"; the wheels were rolling as if moving down the runway, and the aircraft would rotate as if up to speed, but it stayed in the exact same place (though pitched up after rotating).

I uninstalled, and re-installed the aircraft numerous times, and while I was able to get the aircraft to move when throttled up, and fly as expected, the propellors and throttles are still not moving. As far as I can tell, all other avionics are working as expected.

Is this by any chance a known issue, and if so, is there a potential workaround to this? I would appreciate any and all feedback.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Doug! Thank you for the quick response, and for the welcome. I'll reach out to Milviz directly.

I will add here for anyone else that comes across this thread that I was able to get animations working by installing XMLTools, but it also appears some fonts are missing from the install, so I will reach out to Milviz with regard to these issues.

Thanks again!

Hello,

thanks.

Orbx Central is supposed to install XMLTools automatically, I wonder if you still have the copy of the Orbx Central log, so that we can see what went wrong?

Hi Nick,

I do indeed still have a copy of the Orbx Central log (see attached). I do apologize for its size, as I attempted re-installing several times before trying XMLTools. The logs pertaining to the P.180 appear to begin around line 165, and there's a download log starting around line 495. Hopefully this helps!

It's also worth noting that I obtained the P.180 installer .exe from Milviz support forum, and, using the registration key from <P3Dv5 Directory>\Milviz\MVP180E.ini, I was able to obtain the missing font files as well. Now the aircraft is working as expected!
