To Shake Or Not To Shake! Headshake Add-On vs. Real World POV Cam Landing Darrington (1S2)

This video shows the effect of the Headshake add-on in X-Plane 11 (with Orbx HD) compared with real-world video using a pilot-mounted 4K GoPro camera.

 

I had to reduce the Headshake default settings because, absent the kinesthetic senses that accompany movement, I found Headshake to be somewhat disorienting.

I don't see your point.  The XP video looks lifeless compared to the real world, so if you essentially have no head shake in the sim what's the video about?

That’s precisely the point. The video is a comparison allowing you to see the difference. I would note that Headshake definitely changes the simulation experience, even though not as evident in the video. You would have to try it to see what I’m talking about. It’s especially noticeable when banking the airplane.

Ok well, put the head shake settings back up, you eill adapt to them. I run them at pretty high levels and without the effects the plane feels like a 747
