guys this is a copy of my fsx config file im running twin monitors 1900-1200-32bit ,im having fsx freezing up problems,can someone please check this out to see if there is any conflict with any settings or files thanks,im sure im wearing out my welcome here with this problem,it is really pissing me off and im not pc clued up as you would of guessed by now any help would be fantastic thanks in advance.if anymore info is need please let me know thanks.

I didn't see anything that stuck out that was wrong.

Try this:

1) Create a Notepad Text file with all of your favorite tweaks in it (just copy and paste from your current one)

2) Rename your current fsx.cfg to fsx.cfg.bak

3) Start FSX (this will force FSX to rebuild a new fsx.cfg file)

4) Configure your settings in FSX and then exit.

5) Decide which tweaks are the most important to you and place them in that order in the text file you created earlier

6) Add the most important tweak, start FSX, and then try and recreate the crash.

7) If no problems, continue adding tweaks one-by-one, running FSX, and trying to recreate the crash.

    If FSX crashes after a tweak is applied, you have found your culprit.

log into avsim and download a copy of jesus' fsx.cfg file.  Copy and paste this as your fsx.cfg file remembering to save the curren one as a backup.

Jesus' fsx.cfg file is ideal for I7 machines so it should be ok!

I gather this happened in ybbn using dual monitors?  My advice.......use one!  You won't have as many issues and that way you could actually fly more rather than post on these forums!

Sorry to be the party pooper,

BUT !! a word of warning !!

NEVER EVER copy directly a fsx.cfg file from another system to yours EVER !

a simple reason look at your vidcard entries and some more that are specific for your system, tossing in another cfg can have advert effects, so make a backup of your current cfg, delete the current one, let fsX rebuild a new one and then side by side start comparing line by line where the differences are and adapt your fsX.cfg accordingly

thankyou all for your interest in my issue,phil,mike and wolter,one question about the config file in the display section of my fsx config ,my resolution setting looks wrong ,its comes under the section mode,it set to 1024x768-32,is that my screen display setting?? its currently set to 1900x1200-32 within fsx?if my config file looks ok phil should i let fsx build a new one?it freezes mainly with rex running but froze yesterday without it running ,thanks in advance and micgrech it didnt freeze at ybbn,only in mid flight over water,also flightsim is set at x2 speed when flying for long distances.

hence why Phil and I remarked to loose the current fsX.cfg file and let the system rebuild a new one, if the entry in the cfg file is different than what you have set then for sure there is something not "kosher" so best to start with a fresh fsX.cfg and take it one step at the time from there

just copy it and make a new folder within the fsX folder where the fsX.cfg resides wich you can call backup and put it there for safe keepings, you can also chaange the .cfg to .txt and then you can read it as textfile

hey wolter i deleted the fsx folder as you said,something i saw in the flightsim folder cought my eyes tho ,i found another fsx config file there, there was two in there ,the one i posted in this forum and the other in a file next to the new config file ,the one i never knew had much higher setting ,like texture bandwith was as high as 130 instead of the default setting of 40,but all other settings were ok ,so i deleted the other files and am using the new one now ,wat do you think ,could this be the million dollar remedy??cheers.

there should only be ONE fsX.cfg file in there, if there are multiple that's prone to create havoc when trying to run fsX

example of it is your comment that the screenres in the cfg was different as what was set in your game ......................... I rest my case
