Recoil
I'm running the latest stable XP11. It seems as though the pan lights stay on no matter the time of day and it gives me terrible FPS. Or it's just the scenery. I have a GTX 1080 and an i9 10700k and performance in the zibo hovers around 20fps with meduim settings. All other airports I get around 35-50 FPS but this one is unusable, especially when looking at the buildings. Are they any plans to try and improve the FPS here? There have been many reports about the performance of EGNX as you will see from the Search results on this forum. The developer has been notified and the news i got back from our Head of Operations was quote "EGPH & EGNX are going to be updated (new apron plus reported bugs) and that won't happen for a month I estimate"
severniae
Any news on this? I too have terrible problems with FPS in VR using Orbx EGNX - Weird as the Orbx airports are some of the best optimised in P3D.
Jayz
Same here, I thought it was my xp11 but I'm glad to know it is just the airport. Would be nice if it could be fixed shortly as it's pretty unusable as is.
rjsict
Any news on this? Just purchased EGNX and it brings my 1080ti to its knees with only FXAA on in 11.53 If nothing soon, I will be requesting a refund. Is this possible?
Jon Clarke
Please advise the version number you have of EGNX. It should be 1.01 I also attach a lights mod that may assist. Place it above EGNX in the scenery_packs.ini I also have a 1080Ti and will check my fps and post my XP graphics settings. I use Vulkan and do not have VR. Jon Clarke
@rjsict I have just loaded a flight at Ramp 14 of EGNX and then taxied and then flown a circuit around the airport in day & night. Here are the fps rates shown in the bottom right of my attached pics. I was also using Traffic Global at a 55% setting for airline traffic and no GA traffic and the Lights Mod I attached for you in my reply post. In order to see the FPS rate you will need full screen and ensure you scroll down to the bottom of the pic and also to the full right as that is where the FPS rate is shown via Fraps. My shots and normal settings are in 4K at 3840x2160 resolution, PC specs are in my signature. Ramp 14. 46 FPS: Taxiing. 50 FPS: Daytime looking at airport from the air. 50 FPS: A different daytime view. 63 FPS: Night time over airport. 49 FPS: XP11.50 RC 3 Graphics settings:
rjsict
Hi Jon Happy to report EGNX is solid for me after applying the fix. It's good to see we have similar specs. Many thanks for the speedy response. One quick question, the only other Orbx scenery that kills my frames is EGNM? Is there any light fix or wider fix I can apply at all?
