Occasionally there will be a slight mismatch between an LC and a TE product in textures such as squares in water bodies, deactivating the LC scenery has been shown to prevent some occurreneces. However not all scenery boundaries are the same so you may miss out on areas outside the TE area if you don't have the LC product to continue the look and feel. As a guide...
