Newquay Airport - Why Two Orbx England Files?

Recommended Posts

I noticed today that Littlenavmap shows 2 airports at Newquay one on top of the other. One is EGDG which on top of and obscuring EGHQ, EGHQ details can only be found with a search, presumably because it is directly below the another one. Why are there two airport BGL files in the FTX England region folder EGHQ and EGDG?

Can I disable the EGDG in the England region folder? The .BGL file seems to have no real data attached in it so is this just adjusting the display of the default data for some reason, possibly its elevation? If I do this will I still see the default airport? Could I rename the default file and the FTX England EGDG file to stop EDGD displaying at all and just use the EGHQ file?

Can someone help me understand what is going on here, I'm sure there is a logic to it?

Regards Mike

There is also an elevation adjustment in world/ scenery (for EGDG) which I think is Vector but this is listed as disabled as a runway correction in my vector config so I assume this is being ignored.

Hello Mike,

in the default FSX, the airport is EGHQ St Mawgen AB.

However, it is now EGHQ, which is Cornwall Airport Newquay.

The RAF are still there, apparently.

I think the EU England file is just providing the new ICAO code.
