bvdboomen
Hello, I have no tree shadows with autogen trees in FTX EU ENG/SCO/WLS. Hand placed trees do have shadows. In Open LC products and FTX PNW, tree shadows do appear. In the movie, the trees on the right are hand placed at EGHR. The trees on the left are autogen trees. It happens with HD trees and standard trees. Can anyone confirm this? And another one at Newcastle: Cheers, Ben.

Nick Cooper
Hello, it looks like some of the "shadows" are in fact a part of the texture and not shadows at all. Like these:

Yes, that's true. That's the baked in shadow in the ground textures. That's why I made a movie to show that there are no rendered shadows.
bvdboomen
Any news or thoughts about this issue? I'm busy with the BHD textures but I'll try to install THD in the sim's root folder next.
bvdboomen
Bump to bring this up again. EDIT: I've also seen this at Samedan airport. Some trees cast shadows and some don't
bvdboomen
Can anyone confirm seeing the same? EDIT: while testing Buildings HD I noticed that the tree shadows disappears when enabling Open LC EU.
Nick Cooper
Hello, I cannot replicate any of what you are seeing. If I enable shadows, I see shadows that move with the time of day. If I disable them, I do not. This seems to apply to all trees. When I do enable shadows, I enable all of the boxes in both columns.
bvdboomen
I'm only not seeing tree shadows in the (FTX) UK. Everywhere else in the world, there are tree shadows so it must be something local. I have everything installed in a library.
Nick Cooper
Hello, I went to Samedan and saw trees with shadows everywhere and all around the outside of the airport's photo insert in openLC Europe as well. Are you now saying that you do too and that it is only in EU England that you do not see shadows of the trees?
Nick Cooper
Hello, here is a random part of EU England.

What I do know is that I tested Open LC, PNW and Germany today and they all have tree shadows and FTX ENG/WLS/SCO don't. 31 minutes ago, Nick Cooper said: here is a random part of EU England. Is this with England installed in a library or inside P3D. How about maybe the combination of HD trees and FTX ENG is causing it. I really don't know and I'm a bit tired of testing and I am glad that my Buildings HD re-appear in Open LC (not FTX regions yet) after testing that issue. So I'm a bit careful now shuffling scenery around if you know what I mean. Maybe a developer can tell what it possible could be? Cheers, Ben.
