Mac6737
My wife and I went to Monument Valley for the first time this past summer. Before that, I had explored the Orbx version, and took this screen shot last year (OK, so this was in FSX, before I upgraded to P3D). Pretty amazing, and I can now say, authoritatively: remarkably true to the real thing. Monument Valley is on the Navajo Reservation. The buildings you see just above the right wing are the park headquarters. The three mesas you see were made famous by several John Wayne flicks (not set in Monument Valley, of course), but from the backside: East Mitten, Merrick Butte and West Mitten. The second screenshot is the real thing, from the traditional vantage point. I have long enjoyed FSX, P3D and Orbx to revisit places I've been to IRL, but this experience persuaded me that they can actually preview places one might someday go IRL. PNG Holgermesh, anyone?
