miker289
I have purchased True Earth GB South but cannot persuade ORBX Central to download it. Same problem with FTX Central. XP11 works fine. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Mike Receipt number 5d554b98baa31

Thanks, Mike Receipt number 5d554b98baa31 Check that your XP installation is noted in the installation text document in Users/your name/AppData/Local. Scroll to the very near bottom of the file and you will see a text document called: x-plane_install_11.txt There should be an entry in there like this sample from my document,. E:\XPv35/X-Plane 11/ If it is not there then write the entry in making sure you follow the correct text format especially the backward and forward slash XP doesn't write anything to the Registry so a Fix registry tool won't help. Nick Cooper
Hello, Orbx Central, like FTX Central requires that there is a file named x-plane_install_11.txt in C:\Users\account name\AppData\Local. It is a text file and it must contain the full path to the X Plane 11 root folder. That root folder must contain a copy of X-Plane.exe. FTX and Orbx Central look in the admin appdata folder, so if you are sure that X Plane 11 is correctly installed and that it has been run once, it could be that the file is tucked away in the user account appdata folder of the user that installed it. X Plane 11 does not use the Windows Registry
miker289
Thanks jjaycee1 and Nick for your prompt replies! Placing a copy of x-plane_install_11.txt in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local and pointing the contents to the installation folder for XP11 on my user account worked perfectly! Downloading now. Not sure why the Orbx Central didn't assume that XP11 would be in the folder of the user running the command? Regards, Mike

miker289
Well after a few hours of download I get this error on starting Xplane Any ideas? Regards Mike
Nick Cooper
Hello, after hours of downloading, there should follow hours of file conversion. Here is a topic for you to check that all the prerequisites are in place.
miker289
Thanks Nick, verifying the files solved the problem. One thing that might be worth mentioning is that Orbx Central should be run under the Admin account even though the Xplane folder is under a standard user account. Running it there and granting admin authority didn't seem to fully work. Thanks again for your prompt reply! Regards, Mike
