olderndirt Posted August 10, 2019 Share Posted August 10, 2019 Didn't realize Compton Abbas was down in this historical region - Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. Today I visited the Cathedral. Compton Abbas sits on a bit of a ridge - perfect airport location. Short cross-country to Salisbury over typical quilt pattern southern England. What a beautiful piece of history - read 'Rutherfurd's' "Sarum". Looking straight down at history. Cathedral's about and inch southeast of center.
