simonlongstaff
Order Number: FSS0004610 Order Date: 2008-03-21 Hello I should begin by saying that I know that FPS is not the most important thing in FSX. However, I have recently upgraded my system and am a little disappointed that I am not achieving some of the fluid perfromance that I had hoped for - especially over Sydney. I have a clean install of FSX on Windows XP SP2. There are no add-ons other than FTX AU Blue. NOD 32 AV - with FSX excluded. My specs are as follows: System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/12/2008, 17:22:55 Machine name: SIMON-5491F123F Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I have a Dell 24" flatscreen - and I am pretty certain that the native res is 1920 x 1200 (my current setting). This is a very high res for FSX (I think). However, the FTX advice is to set resolution to 'native'. Thus why I have it so high. Also, if lowered, I notice that dials, models, etc seem to be distorted in FSX. Anyway, I hope for some advice as I would like to get more than 4 - 9 FPS over YSSY. Thanks Simon
Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Simon, Sorry to hear of your woes, on a machine with those specs the thing should be pretty fast, so obviously something is amiss, we shall try to get you sorted, A few questions I have : when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del how many processes have you running ? Did you Install Sp1 and SP2 for fsX BEFORE installing AU_Blue ? Did you check out Koorby's Tweaks ? Did you check out the FAQ's ? In Case you have TeamSpeak, we also could get online and talk you through it
simonlongstaff
Hi Wolter In answer to your questions: Around 43 processes running SP1 and SP2 for FSX installed BEFORE AU_Blue Koorby's tweaks have been applied (including FSX,cfg) changes FAQs checked and advice followed. I will install Teamspeak - and logon to server. Which address please? Thanks Simon
simonlongstaff
Wolter Teamspeak is up and running. I have prepared an .rtf file with the full list of processes that are running. I do not know how to post the file to this forum. However, I could send it to you by email if it would help. Of course, to do so I shall require an email address. Would you please let me know how best to provide you with the file? Thanks Simon Longstaff

John Venema
Run the attached registry tweak to shut down all non-essential XP services (it assumes you have XP Pro). Been using that for 4 years now without any impact to any internet or connectivity services so it's "Koorby safe"
tatankamani
Ordernumber: FSS0003721 Hi John, I would like to try the registry tweak, but I have knowledge, what to do exactly and what happens then to my original registry. How do I get back my original registry. Does it work for XP Home, too? Regards Bruno
jontol
Bruno There is another program called "SafeHomeAllStart". I have no ides how it works so have left it alone. No doubt a Google Search will find it for you. Regards John
