ORBX Lights

Recommended Posts

I am not a developer, but have found through research and experimentation that ORBX lighting is embedded in autogen, specifically trees.  To increase the lighting, One must increase the autogen density, and in the back end, the viewing distance.  I have made the following changes to my prepar3d.cfg file with good results:

AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD=2500.000000

To

AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD=6500.000000

Hi Medx421

Would you mind posting a picture to show how it looks, pls?

The OP did not share where his screenshot was taken, so it's not a direct comparison.  I just sampled three cities.  One in Orbx SCA, the others with OpenLC NA and Vector

No other cfg tweaks.  Like I mentioned, you can try pushing the value higher like maybe 9500.000000.  If it taxes your system, just dial back.  Also maybe check the level of your autogen density in the P3D menus.  Unfortunately, this distance lighting is a victim of autogen range, not .bgl files.
