Richard McDonald Woods
I have been having trouble with the ImagineSim VIDP scenery. Other than the terminal buildings, there have been major issues with the elevation of the surrounding scenery. No other users have been able to reproduce the problem. This morning I received the following email from Fran at ImagineSim: "Hi Richard, Reading through our Prepar3D contact's email again he does raise a possibly important point. FTX Central does not appear to include in it's scenery ordering any add-ons that utilise Prepar3D's suggested ADDON.XML method of indexing airports. It seems that any airports added to Prepar3D with this method do not show up at all at FTX Central. Using ADDON.XML scripts is the only method endorsed by Prepar3D. Regards, Fran support@imaginesim.com" On disabling VIDP in AEC the problem was solved and I now have a successful installation of VIDP to which to fly. Is it true that FTX Central is not coping with the scenery correctly, as Fran suggests?
Nick Cooper
Yes it is. A simple manual disabling of AEC for this and any other airport that may have an AEC and has an elevation error will rule Vector out and save you from unnecessary support requests. The auto configuration looks only at the scenery.cfg file. It is a "known problem" and will be fixed. There are numerous posts on the subject in these forums.
