active FSX Steam crashes after installing Orbx

Installed Base Pack, Vector, Southern Calif, and Catalina, along with some freeware.

 

Then tried to start FSX Steam.

 

Crashes at start up screen saying "graphics card does not meet requirements for shader support. Requires geforce3 etc. etc. "

 

I've been running FSX Steam on my GeForce gtx 65o ti with 5th gen just fine up to the orbx install.

this will be the error message.

This product requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card. 

 

 

There is no way that installing any or all of the Orbx products or indeed any flight simulator software could possibly cause this hardware error message.

 

The most likely explanation is that for some reason, FSX is now looking at your on board graphics instead of the graphics card.

 

Please check that first.
