Matt Piotrowski
I have these weird blue squares and I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not. Is there a way to get rid of them?

Nick Cooper
Are you using an addon Landclass product?
bobterri6
I also have them, and now, I have white ones in the winter. See attached photos.
bobterri6
Also, if I only have FTX Global and the libraries installed. If I uninstall FTX Global the boxes go away. Attached are the blue boxes from far away and then one very close.
bobterri6
Well, it doesn't seem that there are any answers for this. It's a real immersion killer. Anybody?
Doug Sawatzky
Have you run the "Force Migration" option in FTXC3 settings?

Doug Sawatzky
Have you tried the below process?
bobterri6
No, I haven't. I'll try it and get back to you. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
bobterri6
I believe I tried this back in August, but I am going to try again, but, I have a few questions. I found the active terrain.cfg file, no problem, however, \ORBX\Scripts\FTXCentral\Work doesn't exist so I can't find the backup copy of the terrain.cfg file. In the thread you pointed me to above there is a terrain.cfg link if you can't find the backup copy. I noticed the post was from 2014. Will this terrain.cfg work with P3D 4.3?
Doug Sawatzky
Yes, it will work, but with P3Dv4 you don't have to worry, it will rebuild a new terrain.cfg on a restart...unlike FSX....so you can just delete it.
bobterri6
I'm afraid this didn't work.
Doug Sawatzky
Ok, can you please attach a copy of your active scenery.cfg file found at C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\scenery.cfg
bobterri6
Will do, tonight. Thanks.

Doug Sawatzky
You are welcome. Please apply the below process. Ensure all of your 3rd party non Orbx addons are at the top of your scenery library and above your FTX entries. Then in FTX Central 3 Insertion points, move "FTX entries should be inserted below" just below your last 3rd party addon. Then move the "openLC entries should be inserted below" just below your FTX entries. and click "Save".
bobterri6
I think I did what you told me to do. The new scenery.cfg file is attached and a picture of my Orbx settings are below. If what I did is correct, it is still doing the same thing. I'm afraid it's not fixed. scenery.cfg
Doug Sawatzky
Your scenery library is still not correct....your scenery entries # 7,8,9,10,11,12 are 3rd party non Orbx addons that need to be at the top of your scenery library, please go over the instructions again. bobterri6
So when you say "scenery library" you are NOT referring the the scenery.cfg? You are speaking about what is below the insertion point in the Orbx cfg? In that case, I'm afraid it's still not working. Thanks for your patience. scenery.cfg
Doug Sawatzky
OK, your scenery library and insertion points look correct now. Next, uncheck/deactivate all the 3rd party non Orbx addons in your scenery library and recheck.
bobterri6
Some of the scenery cannot be deactivated because it was installed using the Lorby Addon Organizer. I unchecked and deactivated the other addons and rechecked and it did not work. I think it's time for bed for me but if you have any other suggestions, I'll try them tomorrow. Doug Sawatzky
You should be able to deactivate them from the P3Dv4 in game top of screen under Options/Add-ons menu.
bobterri6
Before work this morning I deactivated everything under Options/Add-ons except my Aerosoft Airbus entries and SODE entry. I still have the problem! So frustrating.
Doug Sawatzky
Maybe run the “Verify Files” option for both the Orbx Libraries and FTX Global base from within the product box in FTXC3. Then rerun the “Force Migration” again. Then go to your ORBX\Trouble Shooter folder and run the “Migrationtroubleshooter.exe”
bobterri6
Onward and upward! thanks.
bobterri6
Performed suggested operations per your last posting. Verified files in both Orbx Libraries and FTX Global base, performed "force migration" and ran the “Migrationtroubleshooter.exe”. Didn't change anything. This test flight is out of KSLC departing rwy 34R climbing over the mountain range NW of airport.
Doug Sawatzky
Bob The initial topic issue started by the OP was "Blue Squares" so I was still on that train of thought with you, but I was mistaken.....I think your issue is the same as in the below topic, and there is really nothing wrong. Cheers Doug
bobterri6
An assumption on my part that the two were related. Sorry. So, the solution is either to buy the FTX Regions or fly a month before or after the current month you're flying in. Thanks for pointing me to the answer to this. Now, the bad news, at least for me. I decided to check for the blue squares by flying out of KBOI and turning SW on departure and flying until you are above some high hills. This is where I saw the blue squares before (post #6 above). They are still there, even after all the tweaking and changing you suggested for me to do. So, I still have the blue square problem. Flight simming with addons is a perfect example of the 2nd law of thermodynamics in action!
Doug Sawatzky
Ya, it's a fun hobby eh!? We have confirmed that your FTX Global base product is installed correctly with all the required files, so it would seem that the answer lies somewhere else, I don't have any other suggestions at this time other than to reinstall the sim and start clean. Although it appears you have deactivated the other addons in previous tests, it still may also be a contributing factor.
bobterri6
I was figuring it was going to end this way. I just bought a new SSD so I was going to reinstall anyway. I do appreciate your help very much. Thanks again.
