Gabe777 Posted September 16, 2018 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Ok, So if I want to land on frozen tundra or rivers and lakes - using either hard winter dates or the frozen rivers function in FTX regions (Alaska or Norway), will an Otter fitted with skis, land and take off properly ? I am guessing seasonal snow would only be a texture so would NOT work, but what about the frozen water bodies ? I do not use the frozen water function in vectors due to the various current issues like black appearance and magic trees appearing ! Thnx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You should be able to land anywhere off airport (as long as it's a suitable grade for landing) during hard winter. I am not sure about the frozen lakes, but I assume that you should be able to land on them. There's only one way to find out . Start in Northern Alaska and work your way down .
