Morpheus
Hello, the mountain textures in the sothest regions near Austria are very blurry, is this normal? Did they have such a low resolution? If so is there a way to disabel this parts of GES? Thanks.
Richard Lincoln
Hi, I have zoomed into your screenshot and it looks non-blurry to me, can I ask given your Pc specs, do they crisp up when you have paused the sim? Please in future, to help us help you, provide coordinates, ShiftZ.
Holger Sandmann
Hi there, the photoreal alpine areas have the same pixel resolution as the surrounding landclass textures (1.2m). What you're seeing is an issue specific to P3D that has been hotly discussed in various forums, namely that the improvements L-M have made to the distance display of landclass textures don't translate to the pre-compiled photoreal areas because their LODs (distance-dependent Level Of Detail subimages) are treated differently. In fact, even if we did increase the resolution of the photoreal areas they would appear just the same at mid to far distances. We'll have to wait for L-M to deal with this. http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=126408&p=165560&hilit=photoreal#p165542 http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=125127&p=161083 It's possible to remove the photoreal bgl files but I wouldn't recommend it because the underlying landclass textures are not meant to be used without them and thus may display forest or other unsuitable types on mountain tops. Those files start with "FTX_GES_PR_Bayern" and "FTX_GES_PR_GeolandAT2010_" and are located in \ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_EU_GES_06_CVX\scenery.
