Bob70
Seems I'm missing some scenery in this harbor near Perth. I friend of mine shows all kinds . All I'm showing is a big blank. Is it possible that I'm missing files and got a bad download or a bad install. As far as I can tell the download and installation went without a hitch. Help! Also my frames took a big hit. Before FTX Blue I was using VOS SceneryX for FSX. Looked good and had great frame-rates in the 20s. Now I'm down in the low teens with FTX. Hope this can be fixed. FTX Perth on my computer. FTX Perth on my friends computer. Vos SceneryX Perth when I had it on my computer. Thanks in advance for help in what to do to correct these problems. All FSX sliders are set to recomemded settings. AutoGen is at High Max. Bob
maxter
Have you tried uninstalling Voz Scenery X Bob? Funny thing is that is what I see as well however I have never had Voz scenery X on mine previously. I have the same problem with Hillarys Boat harbour as well. Cheers,

Funny thing is that is what I see as well however I have never had Voz scenery X on mine previously. I have the same problem with Hillarys Boat harbour as well. Cheers, Yes. I uninstalled Vos Scenery X completely before I installed FTX BLU. I think I'll just start from scratch. Re-download the zip-file and do a fresh install. Maybe something got lost along the way. I hope so as I'm not to happy with the way things are now. That goes for the the lower frame-rates also. Gees I've got 4gigs of ram., a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz cpu running a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS (640MB) graphics card. FSX runs pretty well with the rest of my software. Well, we'll see what happens. Bob

You got me thinking. What I did was re-install the Voz Scenery X scenery placing it under the FTX Blue in the FSX scenery library. Bingo! The blank areas are not a blank anymore. This will probably hold true with Hillarys Boat Harbor as well. Bob
maxter
Good on ya mate, well done. My problem seems to be a bit different. I never installed VOZ Scenery X in the first place so I must have a bit of a layer problem elsewhere. Oh well, I'll go have a look. Bob Hi Maxter If you would post the coordinates and location for Hillarys Boat Harbor I could take a look and see what it looks like on my end. Also why don't you download and install the Voz Scenery X scenery placing it under the FTX Blue in the FSX scenery library like I did. What have you got to lose? It's free, very easy to install and un-install. You can get it at this link. http://vistaoz.org/downloads11.html Good luck. I really think the problem lies within the FTX Blue scenery itself. There is just nothing in these blank areas. Voz Scenery X fills in these areas. Don't forget the Voz Scenery X was released for FSX to hold us over until FTX Blue was ready. Wolter van der Spoel
just to clarify something and before one out there starts to cry murder, the VSX1.0 package was released before FTX at that moment in time the VSX developers did not have the FTX SDK at their disposal as it was still beeing developed, with the next VSX1.1 these problems will be addressed properly, also with SP1 for the AU Blue region this will be addressed so all will look as it should. first screen, this is how it looks with ftx and the second screen is with FTX and VSX1.0 you will clearly see the mismatch between them, as VSX is offset by a few degrees hence therefore the double image and ships on the kays instead of the water

I guess that means that when SP1 is released I should be able to un-install VSX1 and these blank areas will be filled in with the correct scenery. Is that correct? maxter
Ahhhhhh, thanks a heap Wolter. As I had not installed Voz Scenery X yet, I thought I had a problem with Fremantle and Hilarys Boat Harbour. I have been desperately trying to get Freo looking like Bob's pictures above for a couple of days now. Thanks Bob for the info. I think I will wait for the FTX SP1 as VSX 1.1 first. Cheers and thanks all.
John Venema
Just to confuse matters further ... ;D FTX CityScape Perth will include a Freo harbour in much greater detail that what you see above with custom models and cranes etc. We'll make sure the installer removes the VSX stuff so there won't be any clashes. squeeker
Guys, in addition to/as part of the massive list of features above, had you planned to do the lakes around the Perth CBD? Jarrad's "Forrestdale Lake" included in the Jandakot scenery has set a new standard in that area.. Lake thompson, Bibra lake, Booragoon and bluegum lakes, Lake monger and Herdsman could all use the ORBX treatment.

xlh9734
I,m having problems with Fremantle and Hilarys Boat Harbour as well. They are also blank I have followed the advice given on this thread, with no luck. Is there a step-by-step path I could follow because I feel I am missing something? This FTX CityScape Perth is it the lasts Fix? If so is it due out soon. Any help would be great.

squeeker
Can't wait for this guys. Do you plan to include the Alkimos Wreck, (just off the coast 4nm N of Quinns Rock)? It's a VFR tracking point. If it's not on the cards I'll make sure that it's included with the next OZx freeware release. Thanks, Steve.

squeeker
Alkimos has nearly vanished Yeah, the one placed in OZx is a bit of an exaggeration. You're right that there's not much to see anymore. Unfortunately there's no transparency to the water so to compensate, there's more wreck above the waterline than IRL.

John Venema
Hi John, Any news on a release date for CityScape Perth? The issue for us is getting the appropriate aerial imagery to use. Whilst we can license WA Dept. Lands data, it's not the best quality we'd like. So right now we are investigating alternative suppliers.
