The USGS National Hydrography Dataset, which we used as the source for the SCA water polygons, is a bit of a mystery. Even though we didn't even place any of the lakes and rivers labeled "intermittent", I still had to manually remove hundreds of small lakes that clearly don't exist (anymore).
