answered Strange textures near EINN, Ireland

Dear Sim-Pilots,

this is Smeon from germany. Unfortunately I had no success with the german

subforum a few days ago, so please let me try here :-)

 

Problem:

 

There are some strange textures on the ground near EINN in Ireland
which i was seeing on my flight to Belfast - see the brown areas
on the screenshots.

The same wrong textures can be found near the lake at Belfast.

 

My PC: Win7, FSX Accel in DX9-mode, Nvidia GTX, Intel, Asrock Z77.
Scenery-Addons: none besides FTX Global, Vector, AU, NZ and EU.

Neither new installation "from scratch" nor refreshing
the terrain.cfg (FAQ) did change anything.

 

There are no texture-errors when i´m enabling FTX Global - but bying the

EU-Regionsand then using FTX Global in Ireland is a little bit unreasonable :-)

 

Any suggestions?

Those are normal, they are peat bogs and you'll see them in the same area in Google Earth/Maps and all over Ireland.

It is always good practice to check aerial pictures before "reporting" something like that.

I noticed the same thing as well, but thought it was just normal textures..so peat bogs huh?  I never even considered those, although I know they exist quite extensively up that way.  I've been flying extensively from Glasgow to Belfast lately, but last night I took a scenic route through Scotland.  I have to thank ORBX for sprucing up the GA airports with their cool PeopleFlow objects...gives much more character to the otherwise dull default airports.
