FXT Central and Configurator crash on install

Just purchased FTX: NA Gold USA Northern California. Installing on Win 8.1, all goes well, but FTX Central and FX Configurator will not launch and install fails. Here are the error logs. I've tried every trick I know to get the application installed.

OK, I downloaded and ran the new installer, started install looks like the program starts to run, but then crashes again.

I thought Norton 360 was the issue, but I've completely disabled it.
