Meta
Hi there. I just installed CRM and NRM in Prepar3D. I went to KYKM to look around and it looks like a desert....mostly yellow except for a few spots. Some of the mountains look like sand dunes. Did my install go wrong or is that the way it looks? Also, KYKM is underground. I don't have Vector installed. Thanks for your kind help!
Meta
Yeah...something went wrong with the install alright. Somebody (we all know who) didn't install the latest libraries after the installation. Much greener. Still, two tihngs... There aren't any buildings...just pictures of buildings and spots of trees. Need some help there. if I can put in a request...could we, maybe, get some better mountain textures? They look rather like sand dunes. Voyager
Hi Well, Meta, KYKM not needed Vector readjustment in my "end". So with or without Vector this file was untouchable..! However as it's in a "fat region" there's an elevation adjustament file. I think setting the mesh to 5m everything should be solved! Here, for comparison, a shot from this airport: Cheers,
Holger Sandmann
Hi Gregg, Yakima is a very dry place indeed, most of the year anyway, and the grass-covered glacially-rounded hillsides can resemble large dunes; see http://www.aerolistphoto.com/large/WA/Yakima/south_west/2008/0193/2 http://www.aerolistphoto.com/large/WA/Yakima/South/2008/0139/2 Source: http://www.aerolistphoto.com/gallery/WA/Yakima/ Cheers, Holger P.S.: I am seeing autogen buildings and trees in your screenshot so I'm not sure what you mean re that. Hi Holger, Yeah, I've studied the pictures on Google. Some parts are barren-ish. RW they look nice and it looks like a wonderful place. This pic is from about 10,000, I think. Have to say that the valley floors are very well done (I've flown it in FSX). Good point on the mesh. That's fixed. The pic I posted before I reinstalled the libraries. After that, it looks like there are no buildings on the valley floor at all and just a few trees. Maybe I'll try a reinstall. Gregg
Meta
Yep. A reinstall did it.

spud
Driving north on Interstate 82 from Yakima one has a beautiful view of large signs that tell you "Do Not Enter" and also inform you that "Deadly Force is Authorized" and Holger's photos show the terrain very nicely. Meta
I have found myself simming around that valley area on numerous occasions, out exploring. There are, I think 3 or 4 airports that could be really nice for 'the treatment'. Perhaps CRM will get some more airports someday after California gets the attention. (Not complaining...just more opportunity.)
jhkaye
I would really like to see my home airport, KPSC, (Tri-Cities), done by your team. I have flown into many of these local airports (RW), and spend many hours flying into or over them in FSX. Used to fly into Vista Field in Kennewick, WA, which still exists in FSX but has now been closed as it is part of the Port of Kennewick's redevelopment plan.
