  1. Come with me in the F-A/18 Hornet fighter to see the many military airfields developed in Australia's Northern Territory "top end" for the RAAF & USAAF following the attack on Darwin in February 1942 by the same Japanese aircraft carrier fleet that attacked Pear Harbour in December 1941. Also, experience some maneuvers in the Hornet. Finally, enjoy a visit to famous Uluru/Ayers Rock smack in the middle of Australia. Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

  2. Come with me in this Part 2 video in the Daher TBM 930 high-performance turbo-prop to continue our tour of the famous Dolomite mountains in the NE Italian Alps. You will soon see why this is a UNESCO World Heritage Area. Challenge yourself at the small grass airstrips. See the awesome, disastrous Vajont Dam. Circle incredible rocky peaks. Overfly beautiful lakes. See castles & other sites as well. Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

If you would like to fly one of the early US Air Mail routes using only concrete arrows and beacon lights as your guide, we have created an MSFS scenery available here https://flightsim.to/file/32132/1926-airway-route-cam5

Each of over fifty arrow and beacon sites has been built for the sim and located using original maps and research by aviation historians.

For an authentic experience fly the route at between 50' and 300' AGL, in marginal weather or at night, with no navaids, GPS or autopilot.

Thanks. Just the sort of historical stuff I am into. Will check it out later today. Cheers.

I think that Ryan (Missionary Bush Pilot) flies for another company, not MAF.   I believe that he may have done some training with them but is not flying for them,

Ah ha, looks like you are right. In his latest video, in one of his replies, he says he is now with an organisation called Ethnos 360 Aviation in the USA and New Tribes Mission in PNG. Cheers.

  5. Further to my post immediately above, the map referred to is useful, but unfortunately the 32 "hero POIs" (out of the 600 total POIs) are not identified separately, and also the long list of POIs is not in alphabetical or any other useful order. But it provides a start. Cheers.

    Hi Frank

There is a .kml file that highlights the POIs at the bottom of the announcement.

Does that do what you are looking for?

Thanks Jon. I did see that before posting but all I get is the message below. Does it work for you? Cheers.

  7. Come visit 1929 Transcontinental Air Transport (TAT) and see how TAT formed the first airways airline passenger route across the USA using Ford Trimotor aircraft and innovative systems for flying and for passengers. Called the "Lindbergh Line" it involved 2 days of combined travel by air and train. This Part 2 video covers Waynoka to Columbus. Part 1 covered Los Angeles to Clovis. Clovis to Waynoka was by overnight train, as was Columbus to New York/Washington DC. Cheers.
