It is most likely that there will be substantial ‘under the hood’ improvements,
Thus, a big reason for a complete new version of MSFS…

Thanks for PNG Pack #1 Ken,
just flew the 3 of them in the H145 chopper, to get initial bearings,
these locations make for extreme flying & lots of planning,
& thanks Orbx for the Bundle with Idaho Deadly 3,
Ken, your continued development is greatly appreciated - it all enhances MSFS in a wonderful way...
Cheers

Seems to be fixed now,
Thanks to the developer for acting quickly!

Yes, there seems to be a problem with AI populating YBCS,
no Just Flight traffic,
just 1 aircraft with FSLTL…

Hi @Nick Cooper,
‘Mine has apparently been installed but when looking for other updates, it is stuck on this:’
Nick, I had the very same problem - was stuck on Content Manager screen with full Community Folder,
After trying to isolate the problem Community files - I found latest Rex Accuseason Advanced was the culprit,
further investigation is pointing to the fact that it is the specific Rex Accuseason terrain texture folders that are causing this glitch…

Great perspectives of this new NZMF scenery, Carlos
& blown away by a VR flight from NZMF to Queenstown over the amazing mountains in H145 helicopter with PMS50 GTN 750 GPS to find my way,
a spectacular part of the world!

Really good shots of NZMF, Adam...

Great shots, Pete, of an exceptional scenery pack!

Australia v2 is worth it for P3D…
-
Just did half hour+ flying around Dublin v2 with Dublin City Pack in VR & all seemed to be OK, in Comanche,
Did lots of crisscrossing & approaching this airport,
Seems to perform similarly to any other 3rd party medium/heavy airport,
& this was also using Just Flight AI Traffic active...

just call it a sunk $cost, Don
not an ‘end of the world’ problem

We are definitely not forgetting any P3D customers, and that is official! 🙂
Thanks, Anna
This is wonderful news for the P3D community for whom the Orbx scenery library is crucial…

surely, it cannot be some sort of nebulous commercial secret as to if Orbx has even the slightest interest of supporting P3Dv6…

Yeah,
the last couple of posts really highlight the absurdity of hacking our P3D installs!
poor communication from Orbx, so far…

Hi Anna,
you have a lot on your plate with current multi sim developments,
we have had no official Orbx response about P3Dv6 - been a while now…
personally, have $hundreds & $hundreds invested into P3D Orbx add ons,
& zero inclination to ‘hack’ my current Orbx P3D install (5.3),
could you please give us some early idea whether Orbx is even interested in supporting P3Dv6…
Best Regards,
Craig

A2A was kind enough to even give me a $5 discount - & PayPal in 4,
an absolutely brilliant aircraft - works very well in VR too

you need to remove the native KSEA…

p3d v4.5
Thanks for confirming, Gerold
that is a smart move of yours, as 4.5 has lots of compatibility,
I lost my PMDG 737 when going to v5,
but got the PMDG 737 700/800 combo in MSFS instead,
am more of a GA & helicopter flyer which suits MSFS really well…

But I have refused to move over to v5 already, to further enjoy all of these sunk costs.
what version are you actually using?

We can see how much of an impact MSFS has had on our hobby - it has the lion’s share of users & sales right now,
also fully supported,
unfortunately, P3D developers are abandoning that P3D platform in droves,
it has become clear how much of a game changer MSFS 2024 will be - its impact is being felt now,
& a bonus that it will have advanced technology that will work well on both PC & Xbox,
a winning formula!

with the announcement of P3Dv6 - it is definitely time to not proceed with P3D any longer,
I will freeze at my P3Dv5.4 installation that still functions OK,
already, have had lots of P3D Sunk $Costs of products that were never upgraded from v4 to v5…
for moi, the impending MSFS 2024 will be the future - & have a large fully supported $investment in MSFS 2020, including heaps of Orbx Central $purchases…

So far all the Orbx products I have working in V5 are working in V6, pretty easy to get them setup using reference to existing V5 library
Thanks, Rob
do you have any observations of CPU & GPU optimisations in v6 as compared with P3Dv5?
Cheers,
Craig

OK Orbx,
the obvious first question is about any Orbx products compatibility with P3Dv6?
hope we learn some Orbx official information over the next little while…
