Some great, scenic preview pics. Are these shots tweaked in any way, like color or brightness etc? Is that weather from a 3rd party app, or MSFS native? They look stunning, almost too good to just be from the sim and the scenery addon. But hey, if it does look that good 'out of the box', then I'll definitely be in ;)

    Landon

    Thank you.

There is no secret here and i haven't invented anything. I use my knowledge to harness the maximum visual potential MSFS can give me.

    Monitor setting:

    -4K

    -Fineness adjustment 10 ( Maximum)

-Super Resolution setting 3 ( Maximum)

    -PC RVB HDMI (16-235)

    MSFS Setting:

-Drone Camera (with a very large zoom or vice versa)

    -Ultra Setting

-Render Scaling 150 /170 ( Because I do not use an Airplane and in this case no complex scenery. )

-Manual weather with millimeter light adjustments... (A minute more or less can make the difference)

    -Bloom Setting OFF

-I play a lot with Aerosol density setting.

-I play also with precipitation setting.

I mix these two settings together too...

    Personal working time:

-19 Shots = One afternoon of work with great pleasure.

Everytime I try to transcribe emotions in each of my shots.

This is the goal that I must achieve. To get there I select only the best and I throw in the trash the rest.

Now my "shot" settings will no longer any secrets for you like the P3D,XP & MSFS settings do not have either for me.

This is a shot form inside a building at an Orbx airport right?

It's called pure creative fiction! of course it's from inside an airport  from Orbx catalog.

Waaauw....you achieved certainly with glance your target of posting fantastic real looking shots. The non-cropped shot must be of excellent resolution as this seems to be about a 1/3 slice and enlarged, I suppose you use 4K resolution while flying?

    Thank you very much.

I am using a 4K monitor but with Rendering Scalling 70% .Thanks to this setting my GTX 1080 feels like a fish in water.

For the shots I use a Gamepad and I play with the zoom +/- and the different points of view.

    Hi Wayne

I agree with everyone's input.  The one thing that you haven't mentioned is what resolution you are using.

Real quick - 4K is a quite heavy load on the system if you are doing that.  However, you can set render scaling within MS2020 to 70% (which is basically

rendering the base image at 1080p) and MS2020 will then upscale to 4K.  Members like FILOU @FILOU I believe use a setting

very similar to  this and get very good visuals and performance, although I think he has the next size up (1080ti) from yours

The other thing of course is if you set your fps to 30 fps (I just do it in the NVCP) , MS2020 will behave very nicely.

So in terms of basic settings, you would then adjust all the rendering settings to get a overall balanced system, which is not difficult to do as there

are included presets which are good starting points

I use 2560x1440p and with a RTX2060super (8GB) and locked at 30 fps, I basically have everything set on Ultra settings .  Even with Bristol International

from Pilot Plus which is a very high resolution scenery,  I am only using about 4 GB Vram.  It is very smooth.

Of course if you monitor is 1080p then you will have additional options to increase visual fidelity and still get a very good performance.

As Landon and Nick have both said,  GPU's are still very expensive right now.  As Landon said there is no right or wrong decision on this, but I think

with some system balancing you will be quite pleased how MS2020 will work with what you currently have

Hope this is of help in your decision

    Cheers

    Pete

Sorry to be a little late in the conversation.

This is exactly what I use with a 4k resolution.

-V-sync ON with Frame Rate Limit 30 fps

    -Render scaling 70%

-Terrain of Level of Detail 150

    -Terrain Vector Data ULTRA

    -Building ULTRA

    -Trees ULTRA

    -Grass and Bushes ULTRA

-Offscreen Terrain Caching ( New Update ) on ULTRA.No more popping!

    -Objects Level Of Detail 150

-Cloud HIGHT (To be comfortable in any scenario) you can quickly lose 10 fps in Ultra.

Everything else is high setting by default apart Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate on LOW.

Smooth as silk regardless of the context with my old I7 4790K + GTX 1080 +24 MEMORY DDR3+SSD

The optimization that ASOBO has done is beyond my imagination!

    Thanks Ken :)

    Pete

Thank you so much FILOU :)

I very much enjoyed the video and it was very timely to watch it.

My son-in-law has just ordered an XBoxX to go with their new TV. They bought an a LG Oled and I have to say, the picture fidelity on

it is simply stunning.  He told me that  the Xbox is to be delivered on Saturday .  So I am hoping that I will have a chance to see

MS2020 on it for real.  If the video is anything to go by, I will be in for a real treat.

Granted that it is the smaller Xbox, but still working out how to stuff a flight sim into something this small and still run 30 fps at 4K

with it has enormous implications when applied to a much more powerful PC.  In many respects what Asobo has now accomplished

is simply shear genius.  All kidding aside, it is a tremendous technological achievement.

I think that this is the mistake that we all make when we try to put MS2020 into a category and then compare it with other flight simulation .

It is a wonderful example of  disruptive innovation which is the application of very different technology ideas  to deliver new or existing

products in  a radically different way from what currently exists.  So in this case, MS2020 delivers the world to us in 3D by streaming

technology using artificial intelligence algorithms along with existing 3D technology crafted objects to populate the world.

Initially it didn't work all that well, had its fair share of detractors, many of whom point to existing technology ideas and delivery

mechanisms  as the "best" way to do this. But when you look at MS2020 a year in and realize that this concept is now beginning to bear

fruit and it means that something like a tiny XBox with minimal memory  can still deliver stunning performance bringing our world to us,

and I just have to say WOW !!

And you are right.  They are just getting started.  It is a wonderful journey to be part of .  Even with all the bumps , backsteps and

problems along the way I wouldn't want to miss any part of it FILOU.  It is the future , and it looks very bright indeed.

Thank you for your comments and for sharing  the video.

I have always taken inspiration from your ideas and your wonderful screenshots  :)

All the best and thank you again

    Pete

Thank you for the little story and the sharing. It's very well summarized.

Since using MSFS I take fewer pictures but enjoy flying a lot more!.

About screenshots i take a lot of inspiration from others as well.I haven't invented anything.

    All the best also.

  6. Very nice shot Simple and effective Exactly what I like !

There is so much enthusiasm around MSFS and so many new things to come that despite the tears and the laughter generates the updates, I am completely charmed.

I allow myself to open a little parenthesis so I am surprised to see such a feat of technology.

The launch of MSFS on Xbox is successful.

If you are curious go see some Xbox series X/S MSFS videos using an OLED TV, it's just amazing!

    For exemple:

This is only Xbox Series S ! ( 300 EUROS)

The optimization that ASOBO has done is incredible.I am with I7 4790K & GTX 1080 in 4k (Render Scaling FSsetting 70%)  monitor with all high settings.V-Sync "ON" 30FPS and it's smooth as silk.Whatever the context.

Do all this in 1 year It's unthinkable...

This is just beginning. It's going to hit very hard.

I wish you a great adventure in this new modern world!
