  1. Hi Carlos, I just followed through this video (***AFTER CREATING A REGISTRY EXPORT BACKUP!!!!), and reset the values as per his instructions, to the end of the video. I have not yet rebooted the system. Now speaking about the 3rdP FFTF Dynamic program that one can purchase, that is a RAVE review on my end. It absolutely works just as advertised to do so, and if you set the AGL (Above Ground Level) setting top end, that default is 5,000 ft, to around 3,000 ft, if you like mostly VFR 80-250 knots over terrain, it will absolutely keep your terrain and autogen visuals top notch, and crisp. As a result of my absolutely needing to have all the three slides of the WORLD section, at full right, (Extremely Dense) as I wish to see/enjoy EVERYTHING I have paid for, and will not see, if those sliders are not at full right, (P3D not being visually filtered), when I could NOT use FFTF Dynamic in between P3D HF1 and 2, (for the Developer, did not have for about 2 days, after the HF2 release, his FFTF Dynamic for P3Dv5) for HF2...I had to fly P3Dv5HF2 without...and being that my system is an older four core (i7-975 Extreme) tagged to a GTX1070 8GB GPU, at my WORLD full right setting certainly had a blurry world below. I would start clear at the start airport, (like my personal default choice; KORS) and as soon as I climbed out, at around 100 knots...yes, the world below, the mountains, whatever...started to go course, jagged, roads deteriorated, etc. I lived with that for two days, until he released his FFTF Dynamic for P3Dv5H2 version. I installed it...ran it first with A.S. before hitting the P3D v5HF2 Icon...and as soon as I started climbing out of KORS...from then there on....clear, crisp FULL RIGHT on three sliders visuals...and no further thought about it. There are a few add-on 3rdP programs that bring out the best of P3D running ANY Orbx title, and this one mentioned is a MUST HAVE. Setting your FFTF to one value in your .cfg file is merely throwing darts to the dart board in the dark. As this program monitors this value, and CHANGES it dynamically on--the-fly, as you enjoy your flight...is the 'secrete sauce' to the P3D visuals seen on the screen. So, even before I (am going) to try this tweak, as soon as I end this post and reboot my system as he suggests as the last procedure, I already get top-notch visuals (as per my screenshots uploaded) and those screenshots have every Orbx element that is coded into the products. Terrain, autogen, whatever...they are not filtered by my WORLD slider settings. This program comes with two monitoring settings...FPS and AGL, and here is the best set up for the most FPS performance and stability you can glean from P3Dv5 andv4 whatever's... 1. Press the AGL button within the FFTF Dynamic program mask. Set the high limit from the default 5,000 ft, to 3,000 ft (if you are a 3,500 or less foot VFR flyer). In your nVidia Driver Mask, set your MAX FPS to 31. When next running P3D 5 or 4, set your FPS to 120 (this is VERY important!) as this changes how P3D handles itself upon its threads, as now, your nVidia Driver Suite will be keeping the FPS to 30-31. If you do all of the above, buy the program, run P3D internal at a locked 120 and set your nVidia Driver Suite to 31 locked FPS. You are going to squeeze out the best performance you can out of your system, running P3D 4 or 5. One last note...P3D v5 LOVES Hyper thread mode. If you can run that, and you have a Four Core Logic CPU as I have, you need to add this to the top of your .cfg file: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=254 If you own a CPU with a higher LOGICAL CORE count...then you will have to figure out the Hexadecimal number that will allow the O.S. to use ONLY the first Logical Core. For a FOUR CORE, CPU, 254 does exactly that. This will let your system use Core 0 for BIOS, and Core 1-7 will be reserved for P3D operations and threads. All of the above, gives 100 percent allowance out of P3D whatever...and this is how I run my system. I have full visuals...Water SECTION, WORLD SECTION, the all of it...wide open. I want to see what I paid for with internal features of P3D 4 and 5, and then all my 3rdP scenery, regions, terrain, the all of it (!!!), ...and not sliced and diced by reduced sliders within all the Graphic Sections. The secrete to doing that quite frankly, is buying the FFTF Dynamic program (the cost of one low end Orbx Airport) which will allow you to ENJOY every scenery element OF THE Orbx LIBRARY you own!!!! Again as a user...this is a no-brainer purchase. Cheers, O.F.
  2. You need FFTF Dynamic v5....3rd Party purchase. Set to 3,000 AGL. That will do it... Google it. Read what it does...how it does it. Your FFTF setting becomes dynamic, live-time...and changes in the second, depending upon the scenery load in demand. With a manual setting, that you have now...no MATTER what is happening in the live-time animation load in...your pre-set FFTF .cfg setting could be totally inappropriate for the demand upon the CPU/GPU...and hence...lagging, and visually deteriorated texture AND...auto-gen load in, upon the screen. Check it out...and you can buy me a virtual beer....
  3. Having grown up in Phoenix....it is my prediction, that you most likely won't see a full desert-State release. It wouldn't sell very well. It would be a state of one advancing mile upon the other, of the same topography...beige sand, with pockets of stalt mountain ranges, of 3,500 feet or less, like South Mountain Park. Such as that. I love Arizona, have lived in Arizona...but honestly, I am looking for such as what they have released already...varied topography....varied elevations. Even Florida, though flat, has such an ocean to land; 'presence', with such beauty to the eyes for any VR flight. Miles upon miles of desert sand....(except of course, for the north part of the state, Flagstaff, Sedona, etc) is what would make me pass it on by....even as an Arizonian. Where is Orbx releasing True Earth's?----->where there is a real life, color pallet differentiating features and elevations. Great Britain, the West Coast, Florida, and no doubt, soon bringing the East coast of the U.S/Canada.,...the Carolina's up to Nova Scotia/Newfoundland,....which fits their 'scent trail' of zones.... to date. I of course, could be totally wrong...but honestly, I don't think so....
  4. I had 'that' program in FSX, but the effect is much more realistic for whatever reason, within P3D v4.3. I'm glad that I have the added effects for water, land and air-borne back into the sim 'mix.' Everybody was waiting for a long time...for this development.
  5. We arrived at our friend's house, just east of the Rockies...now, ready for some leg stretch and we are invited to dinner...:)
  6. ..and don't ask me what the program is...I can state that I have bought programs, but can not be specific and still follow forum rules....that enhances your P3D v4.3 immersion experience while using ORBX scenery, such as PNW's CAC8. I tipped you off that there is a program 'out there'...you must do your own due diligence thereon after...! If you ignore this 'tip off'...woes to you...for you are SO missing out on what makes P3D v4.x such a killer sim....and the sound in stereo...within my Kodiak in this present flight...was so badly missing, when having migrated from FSX Steam, to P3D v4.3. So badly missing, because water and environmental sound effects within and outside the cabin is so important to my sim experience. So important!.....AND...I now have it all...baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Hallelujah! Later....
  7. Wow...has v4.3 really come to life, now! I had no idea how good the new sound modules/engine is in V4.x ! As I taxi'ed for take off...the water against the hull, was dynamic...it waned and slapped, as I crested a wave, and then the pontoons rested in the trough...amazing! Then...as I applied throttle for take off, the pontoon tips lifted as expected and as I planed across the water, the sound of the slaps as I now skimmed the tops of the waves you see here...actually started my brain to look for physical sensation of 'butt inpact' through the seat of my pants. Then...at lift off...now, in-cabin wind, with the sound of the water falling away from the aft of the pontoons....wow, wow..wow...wow.... This is a MUST HAVE, in P3D v.4...a MUST have. This is a FYI post...and is just now available. ]
  8. OMG...with the sounds of the waves slapping the pontoons...and the sound of the water moving past them...I think I'm going to be sick...what a TREMENDOUS difference, there is to your sense of reality, when your brain, is processing real-world sounds, in conjunction with the animation upon the screen.... This ROCKS...in more ways than my hull across the waves, today!
  9. There is a certain sound program that we all had in FSX, that now is available for P3D v4.3, and with the waves you see here rendered from my .cfg mod's, the sounds of the water slapping against the pontoons is once more heard...and the sound...is fantastic. So...think about that certain sound program, and go for it...between the .cfg mods, and now the sounds of water, moving, at rest...waves against the hull/pontoons....the total immersion is 100 percent, and with the sounds now from within the cabin...right as this picture was snapped...I'm looking around for my flotation cushion...just in case....!!!!! PNW
  10. Lookin' great! I'll just bet that was a white knuckle landing....!
  11. You're most welcome...now...how 'bout some screens of your own...over rolling waters! PNW
  12. Some out over Lake Ontario, near Buffalo, NY around 20:00 hours
  13. Looks very nice....very realistic! Love the rolling swells... Enjoy! PNW
  14. You don't...that code if you put it in properly will take care of all settings, automatically as the .cfg is 'sniffed', and will set the sim to what you need. Set 'n Go....:) You just look at the code HEADINGS, and place what is within that Heading, pasted to under that Heading in your present .cfg file. If you do not have some of these Headings...then you just paste the whole thing as you see it in my example. You probably won't have some of them....Then...SAVE...and you are ready to just fire up AS4 and P3D v4.3. Now, set your flight to for instance, CAC8, at the dock...and get ready to rock 'n roll, literally, lol. If there's wind to whip up those wave crests...is there. Also, change your sim time to 0500 hours, before you log off the sim, and look at how beautiful the water surface is rendered with more early morning calm. Just beautiful....v4.3 kicks butt....
  15. Thank you...and my greatest pleasure, will be in seeing yours and other's ocean shots, Great Lake shots, added to this thread. Start snappin' Jack!
  16. Nope...if you overwrote your Client with 4.3 Jack then you HAVE literally v4.3. Good to go! The scenery makes no difference here....the CLIENT does...so just add, save, and fly. Have fun. Here's a few more before I take off again.. Cheers! "Looking at these three screen shots, can you feel your stomach...moving up and down?...lol" ! Barf....:)
  17. Most welcome...but honestly, v4.3 is way better in animation, lots of other stuff over 4.2 You are missing out, mate! These lines in v4.3 are simply killer....if you love water as much as I do...you will probably hang out by oceans, Great Lakes, after adding this code to your .cfg file. Let me know, if you do...! PNW
  18. You go here: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Then open up Prepar3D.cfg and add in my code with all the proper headers. Press save, and you are good to go. Run AS4 right now, at CAC8, and you will see what these snaps are producing, wave height, wave action and pretty dense fog right now, in the PNW Just change the Drive letter if that is not also where you will find the rest of the address.
  19. Bond, my name...is James Bond...lol Just had lots of time over my vacation to research, poke and tweak. It adds killer real life effects to oceans, lakes, and rivers. My viewpoint, anyway.
  20. Thanks, just messin' around, adding this, adding that,...but, I do have the code as you see here, locked down with ten copies of the .cfg file on tap, lol Hope you enjoy.... PNW
  21. Actually, funny that you mention that...not only that...but the left pontoon under my customized sound envelope, gave rubbing and banging noises to the scene, in the cabin...had to lower the water rudders and get the heck outta Dodge, and fast....so, a frantic start up and taxi as you see here....no pontoon punctures, thank goodness!
  22. Thanks, I'm just now in this flight...and going to head up the coast. AS4 is creating the conditions for much better snaps of what that code can give you. Simply amazing...and oh...try LANDING in those 4-5 foot swells! You practically have to fall out of the sky 3 inches above the wave crests...if not....you become a submarine....and oh...an upside down one...
  23. Here's some snaps just now, with AS4 commanding the weather, at CAC8
