    Installing Orbx products in Prepar3D v5

    Getting Orbx Central to recognise Prepar3D v5

    1. You must opt-in to our beta program - Fastlane.
    2. Start Orbx Central.
    3. Go to Settings -> General. You must be running Central v4.1.5 or above. If not, click the "check for updates" button.

    4. For all Prepar3D v5 compatible products, you can just click on them as usual, then press "install". Please read the important tip below first.
    5. Make sure you install the Orbx Libraries in Central. Many of our products depend on them.

     

    Important Tip: don't download products you already have installed into Prepar3D v4

    When viewing your Orbx library in Explorer, you'll notice a folder for each simulator that supports libraries:

    Inside the p3dv4 and p3dv5 directories, there will be subdirectories for each product you have installed.

    If you copy (or move if you no longer intend to use v4) products from the p3dv4 directory into the p3dv5 directory, Central will recognise them as being installed in Prepar3D v5. However, you must ensure you only copy products that are marked as compatible. Support will not be given for products that are not compatible with Prepar3D v5.

     

    Once the compatible products are in your p3dv5 directory, you can start Central again. For each product you copied, click on them, then press "verify files". This is to ensure you have all of the latest updates and product dependencies installed.

    OrbxDirect & Partners

    Hi all,

     

    Orbx has recently added top tier partners such as Milviz and //42 to OrbxDirect store and this week we released Bristol Airport for Pilot Plus and announced Kos Airport from Gaya Simulations.

     

    This recent initiative has been something we have been planning for some time, utilising our excellent OrbxDirect site and Orbx Central app to give our users the best experience, consolidating all their products in one simple platform.

     

    We have been holding discussions with various selected partners who have complementary products to Orbx's, maintaining the highest level of quality and providing great experiences for our users. Our partners find value in having another channel, sometimes on an exclusive basis, where they sell and promote their products.

     

    Orbx will still continue to produce high quality content, and over time, we will add more partners and vendors, who will add to our library of superior content and flight experiences.

    Updates for DVD customers

    This is a repository of update downloads for customers that have not transferred their DVD licence over.

     

    If you are a OrbxDirect customer and have transferred your products into your account then there is nothing for you to see here, move along.

     

    These downloads are mainly for users that have DVD originals and have not purchased a cross grade for their product (i.e. a digital version).

     

    Do not use FTX Central to install these products. They are installed manually by unzipping them and running the installer.

    P3Dv3 updates and ObjectFlow

    All,

     

    As P3Dv3 goes through its various updates, please be aware that there will short delays as we ensure the ObjectFlow DLL is compatible with the new version of P3D.

     

    If you choose to move to a new version of P3Dv3, then please note that until we have a working DLL, your sim may crash if you choose to run the DLL. You will be presented with the option not to run the DLL, this will ensure that the sim will function but any ObjectFlow scenery elements will not appear.

     

    Once we have an updated DLL to work with a new version of P3Dv3, you will be prompted to update that DLL when running P3D, so please allow it to update itself. We will also host the new DLL here for those having problems with the online updater or wish to use the offline method.

    Temporary workaround for installing Orbx scenery with FSX:SE

    I have tried to follow the instructions on this page to make orbax FTX global base run on FSX steam but I'm having problems I'm getting errors, and the amount of money I spent on this and this company can not just create a new installer. I am so furious I would never ever buy another product from this company until they fix this problem

    Nothing wrong with our installers, you need to fix your registry settings, that's all.
