  1. Would be great though... They are really missing. They are the ones I get most requests to include... Several people asked just yesterday... Hope you will find time to convert this extraordinary add-on. Henrik
  2. Thanks Ed Better. Nothing against the product but it should be presented as what it is. We all want MORE and better nautical activity in the sim. I (and a lot of others I know) still hope Larry's BC ferries will be upgraded from P3D/FSX to MSFS... Larry's add on is fantastic and missing in MSFS. I started my project inspired among others by Holger Sandmann's early projects. Henrik
  3. Hi Ed, Yes, that is a way to calculate, but it isn't really what it is saying. Independently of whether Seafront sent you misleading information, towards consumers Orbx will in most countries be seen as the selling part and thereby responsible... what is between you and Seafront is then your issue... So maybe it would be a good idea to go back to them and get it changed to something more clear and correct. I am a big fan of Orbx and all the quality products coming straight from Orbx during the years, but this kind of communication isn't Orbx style... The above product does have value but sell it as what it really is and not as something inflated, which will then disappoint people and harm your brand... As I have my own ship project (which by the way over the years always required FTX as base to work properly in FSX and P3D) I saw many comments on this shipping add-on with people expecting something really fantastic with loads of different ships - all based on the above communication - and I have had to answer questions on compatibility and differences with my project - and then yesterday someone ask the question "but how many models does it really contain because the pictures are all the same few models..." and the answer was 19... that is if you buy both packages... even I who have spent three decades in global marketing was surprised.... Henrik
  4. It says here that it includes tens of thousands of high-quality, PBR, night-lit utility, fishing and cargo ships - how does that fit with the developer stating on Avsim that the package includes 14 ships in the Enhanced AI and 5 ships in the Vessels Global Shipping? It apparently has tens of thousands of repetitions of 19 ships, but one would expect Orbx not to promote a product in such a misleading way.
  5. In terms of the number of anchored ships there isn't a lot of difference - the difference is noted further out with the moving traffic in and out of the harbor. But the AI traffic engine is not the right tool to fill an area like Singapore - so the task it to ensure that there is not too many maritime disasters using the two together
  6. If you set at 5-6% you get all of the Global AI Ship Traffic - it is all designed with 5% in the traffic bgl. If you increase you will just get repetitions included in the default traffic with the around 15 default models... I have been running tests at 100% to look at performance with full default traffic loads and that gave me a lot of repetitions of the same few yachts and sometimes in some funny places... So I would recommend max 10% unless you use specific add-ons by other authors with a higher setting. I am actually not aware of the setting of e.g. the Seafront Simulations package.
  7. It works... you might be unlucky and see one of my ships hitting an anchored ship on the way in, as i would need a map of the precise locations of the anchored (static) ships to avoid this, but as far as I tested the anchoring spots do not coincide.
  8. Yes... The Global AI Ship Traffic was released for MSFS yesterday. It is available on flightsimnorway.com https://flightsimnorway.com/aishipsn and on flightsim.to Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V1 • Microsoft Flight Simulator Please note - the package is still backwards compatible so even for those running FSX or P3D it might make sense to update - especially we have added European ferries but also new sea animals e.g.- Southern Right Whales and updated killer whales and humpbacks. If used in FSX or P3D then FTX Global is still a prerequisite in order not to have the ships hitting the faulty default shore lines. In FSX and P3D older versions of the Global AI Ship Project must be uninstalled before installation of the new package as the file structure is quite different in order to accommodate for changes in the way AI traffic is read by the MSFS engine. In MSFS I recommend all scenery with nice bridges... e.g. Sydney by Orbx where we also added a few live ferries to complement. Bulk Carrier in Sydney, Australia British supply ship arriving to Port Stanley, Falklands Islands Cruise ship Carnival Paradise near Jacksonville, USA
  9. Yes, I actually spoke with Dex about this some months back, however I don't know how far they are. Here we had a small delay but we should be ready to release next week.
  10. Both could be possible... and ps the new version is still backwards compatible with FSX and P3D if you have FTX installed or something else with precise coastlines. Brazilian fish boat
  11. Hi Holger, Thanks - I must say the anchorage looks very good and it wouldn't be possible to get the real intensity with AI ships. I have visited several times and the amount of ships there is just amazing. So I will adjust the routes a bit. And the rest of Singapore is also fantastic. Congratulations. I was long waiting for a decent Singapore scenery but this was better than expected.
  12. Two days delay with the beta... and the Orbx gave me a small headache... some routes will need to be revised to match the Singapore scenery from Orbx... Those pointing to the right are the AI Ships... now they look good, but they did crush a few static ships on their way to the anchorage... But we are getting there...
  13. Progressing The beta will be sent to test on Tuesday... well if Asobo updates MSFS before that as it is rumored. I don't want to send the the beta and then the next day conditions change.... Below some shots from today; almost everything now seems to work. No wakes for the moment but changing the file structure all ships now display as intended. Morning on the Yangtze Chinese barge on the Yangtze Traffic in the English Channel - spotted 56 different ships on the test flight from Calais One of many completely new models - Delft Seaways doing Dover-Calais Another new model - Garcia de Avila of the Brazilian Navy (ex-Royal Navy Sir Galahad)
  14. Hi - a small update on the shipping for MSFS. A conversion based on the mdl files and original textures is well ahead - now we are down to a week or two from upload. All ships using BMP textures have been corrected - no more white ships All folders and simflt entries have been corrected; for those who have done the fast simple conversion without changing simflt entries and model folders you actually only get a bit less than 50% of the ship variants displaying... still that is around 500 ships but far less than the 1250 included in the schedules and repaint versions... Most of the transparency issues related to DXT5 have been corrected going back to the original source files correcting texturing - still working on the last ones. If you look carefully at the picture of the cruise ship further up in this thread you will notice that part of the superstructure is actually missing due to issues with DXT5. And yes, there are wakes in MSFS - they don't look as nice as in the other sims as they don't follow the water surface but are kept in one plane. But they can be displayed; if you look at the two screenshots just below you see both bow spray and wake. We will not do anything further to correct the effect files as it is at least my understanding that there will later this year be an update to the effects and it is simply too much work to correct them. On a final note - the AI traffic in MSFS continues to be buggy, but for those wanting to have ships displaying it is definitely possible and what we will upload is at least a bit better than default Henrik
