  1. I'm worried about Lanzarote - in MSFS it's far too green and it doesn't look like that at all (BING that is). The Spain UHD has it about right at Level 18 and 19. What is Orbx's spec for scenery - 30cm per pixel or other?
  2. Ah you can't beat a bit of old-fashioned whimsy.
  3. Scary thought! As for your last sentence: "Do not go gently into that good night, do not give in without a fight..."
  4. You get my vote for the most whimsical statement in the whole of Christendom.
  5. Hi Chuns - I'll let Jon deal with your scenery.ini file but I've just noticed you're not using the option for the Metal renderer. Might grab a few more FPS back for you.
  6. It's well-deserved Jon, you've done a helluva job-a-work in these forums.
  7. I'm shortly to hit 70 and that's totally baking my noodle!
  8. Come on Old Prop Solutions, you can do it and you know you want to!
  9. Can Orbx confirm that Canary Wharf et al will now have proper building lights as we have been asking for months and months?
  10. How on earth did you know that there is a braille version? I have been beta-testing it for the last 2 months. It's really good. However the main problem is the full stop, or period, button. If one were to hit it during flight, the aircraft just halts immediately and falls out of the sky with no way of a restart. At the moment it's not a viable alternative to the established aims but, as I say, it is in beta.
  11. My thoughts to your thoughts Teecee. Please keep us updated. My very best wishes from a fellow "stook in t'owse" as they say in Yorkshire.
  12. Stay safe Mate. My immune system is shot following my severe sepsis back in October, so I'm isolating right now. I agree, it's all a bit of a rum do!
  13. Well they can't be from Mars. I mean, the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one they say!
  14. On the other hand I've learned an awful lot more about my "unmentionables"! Cheers Rodger
  15. Hi Doug I prefer not to think of myself as a "victim" or I'm fighting a "battle". I prefer to think of it as a minor inconvenience and part of the circle of life! Thank you for your thoughts; much appreciated. Fizz
  16. Thanks John, most kind of you. Best wishes.
  17. I stumbled upon this video that explains the whole process in exquisite, simple detail.
  18. They ask you to provide your pills because, if they keep you in, they won't have to pay extra to supply your drugs. So it's better you have your own with you for cost and continuity purposes. I go in next Tuesday for another cystoscopy to check up on my bladder cancer. O joy, O joy, O joy!
  19. I think your thinking of Broads, as in Norfolk Broads. Although in my case I'm not fussy!! I don't mind 'em from anywhere!
  20. Oh very funny Nick, I'm sure. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were making fun of me.
  21. Hey Guys (and girls), great news! Yes I know that wasn't a proper sentence but I'm trying to be modern. Anyway I have bought some new computer kit. Let me set the scene. You see previously I would download the True Earth from ORBX and it took about a month if I left the computer on all the time. That's because I have a rather old 300 BAUD Modem with acoustic "ear muffs" that cover the phone diaphragm and mouthpiece. It was pretty reliable and I was happy with it but I really wanted more speed. So I splashed out in my local TANDY store and bought a new one! They had two models in stock, a 1200 BAUD and a new and snazzy 2400 BAUD. The difference is that the 2400 BAUD plugged straight into one of my 8 bit cards on the motherboard, while the 1200 BAUD still required the acoustic muffs. And the best news? It only cost $900 dollars as they were having a 25% off sale. Now I have it all connected I have to say it's marvellous. I've been experimenting and reckon I can now download a typical ORBX file in about 10 days. Joy, O joy, O joy! If anyone can beat those download speeds I simply won't believe you! Even better I have just found out I can make something called Voice Over Internet Protocol calls to my family. I'll let you know how I get on once I've sussed it all out. The Times they really are a chang'in.
  22. Well John, I've just had 2 weeks in Cannes and in 3 weeks I'm off to Norway for another 2. Stay at home? Nah!
  23. Nice post Terry but you omit certain important details. What, for example, were the "other treasures"? We need to know these things. Can't stand it when people don't give the full details, and I don't have any imagination at all! Spill!
