  1. Hi all,

here are some more shots of FS9 featuring the big freeware scenery pack VOZ 1.8 for Australia.

Sorry, but I cannot get rid of the red popup showing the fps. The usual shortcut doesn't do anything.

Flying itself works extremly well in FS9, I have some nice aircraft there, it's fun. And there are tons of freeware aircraft available which

does not always work 100 % in FSX. And of course the framerates are not the problem with todays hardware. :)

    At Brisbane

This shows the "World of AI" traffic, a fantastic freeware solution for worldwide AI traffic in FS9 using great AI models and paints.

They later adapted the flightplans for FSX but in my opinion it did not run in FSX as it did in FS9.

    This is at Jandakot

    1sx0bOb.jpg

If you look here directly underneath the aircraft you can see one of the biggest limitations in FS9 which is a ground resolution of only 4.2 or 4.5 m/pixel.

Perth International featuring a little PR

    Fgjo3Nt.jpg

Here you can see the colors switched to the SW region of Australia, otherwise it would be too green or so.

    Opz5LOd.jpg

    ieZhJw7.jpg

    dpeSlyY.jpg

And this is a wonderful little PR at Fremantle which unfortunately never made it's way to Orbx Australia V1. :)

    5pTYbqo.jpg

Here you can see the GUI of the VOZ Switcher. This is a tool to switch the regions of AU in order to get the appropriate environment.

It works well on my system using Win 10.

    PgGCVyH.jpg

And here you can see the 4 different splash screens of VOZ which reminds you which region is installed. So if you want to go YSSY and the SW region

is activated than you have forgotten something! :)

So this was great and a lot of fun in thoose days. And it brought me to Orbx later and within all these years I installed quite a lot of Orbx sceneries.

Thank you very much for viewing!

    Cheers

I did have the same problem in Brisbane the same night with a single figure slide show when trying to look at the city.

The problem in P3d are very often files which are written to the sim folders and not the Orbx folder and are overwritten

and overwritten again the more addons you install. So it's better to install all sceneries as addons and this will not happen

because nothing is written to the sims folders in this case.

You can read about it here if you want:

    Cheers

thanks for the comments, just installing p3d4 just to compare visuals and figures, wondering if it's just the EA thing that's causing low figures however it is only in Ausv2, was there a v1? 2 must have much more detailing...

Nice set Wayne. I have a lot of FT scenery and it all works great but with the YSSY there are still some problems remaining I think.

What I use for Sydney in P3d is the AuV2 (has good fps) and the Cityscape on top but using the Orbx YSSY which

fits better with the Cityscape because the FT YSSY covers some very nice TrueEarth PR outside the airport which is not so nice.

Furthermore the Cityscape is large and really worth it, it's a little TrueEarth miniregion all around Sydney area.

For me the best Sydney scenery in flightsimulation today.

A wonderful set with some excellent coastal views.:)

I installed my version along with the cityscape the other night but I havent tried it out yet.:P

I did have the same problem in Brisbane the same night with a single figure slide show when trying to look at the city.:(

The Cityscape is great Martyn, if you have it you will have fun flying there. I have full fps at Sydney and at Orbx Brisbane Cityscape and airport

I have around 25 fps, but this was always an issue at Brisbane, don't know why. At Gold Coast Cityscape and airport I have full fps as well.

superb set and great video to...it's a truly amazing plane in the right hands...

Thank you and agreed, it's difficult to fly and always carrying a lot of people, really needs professional pilots.

Well done Andreas, nice video too.

Yes John, this was understood a bit later...:o so far they applied a bit of soap underneath the wooden parts! :)

Wow, FS9? Hard to believe it still runs.

    Keep it up Andreas!!

Yes Sir, I will. I first thought of uninstalling it but it works again now, I can fly. Did a flight yesterday from CYVR to KBLI using

the Aeroworx B200 which is great but does not even work in FSX. Only issue with FS9 now is that I have to switch it to "windowed mode" for the menue to work.

The seat comfort in economy has not developed much since then in many airlines. The service is absolutely the same.

You are right Gerold, open the door and throw pax in, close the door and go flying!

That is an excellent view Andreas.

The good old FS9 days, I enjoyed the ease of repainting the planes and I spent as much time making liveries as I did flying.:P

Thank you Martyn, in those days it was fun to work on the stuff. In FS9 I even changed the fde if it didn't work :o:) and I also

did some rudimentary panels on my own. FS9 was well appreciated by simmers and with FSX a lot of problems started.

  6. Hi all,

here you can see how it all started. How people start something and what becomes of it is sometimes amazing.

It only takes a few years, or a few more. :)

Sim is FS9 and scenery is Vista Australis, and the Wright Flyer.

Great flight Andreas. Looks like a holiday tour in fine "average" climate - compared to what we currently hear from some countries.

Thank you Gerold, and yes, it was a very relaxing little flight. Hope it won't be too hot for the next few weeks.

great shot, I nearly bought their Cessna but some negative comments going around about stagnant development...

Thank you Wayne, I also have the Cessna and it works well, it has good fde, but don't know if development goes on or not.

I can use both aircraft as it is in XP11 but it's a question if they will do updates for XP12 or not.

  9. Hi all,

this is top class ga aircraft, there are only a handful in this category. It's of course the Airfoillabs King Air 300.

And it's really worth it to use XP only to fly this aircraft. No, I am not in the business , I simply like it.

    Beautiful shots Andreas :)

Thank you all for your kind comments gentlemen, glad you like it! :)

I assume that the original XP screenshot tool does not really copy the postprocessing effects because in the video

the colors are stronger and the light is different. Can that be?

    Cheers

Great images! Nice showing that there is still much to the previous sims. I still fly in P3D from time to time. Lots to see and do there.

Thank you very much and good to hear that you keep your P3d.
