What a nice surprise tonight when exploring the wonderful SA open LC, I landed in SCTE.

I didn't know the airport had been enhanced, but I appreciated it a lot.

Thanks for the comments. The airport is in a great location to explore the fjords and volcanos in southern Chile. There are a number of airports in South America and one more in the latest pack that should be out shortly. I'll probably do some more as time goes on although I tend to concentrate on Canada since I have access to better info on the airports.

  2. I Actually have a very long list but don't always do the airports in order of request. It depends on difficulty, the availability of good information (although I usually check air photos of the airport before I add it to the list), and where it is located in the world - I tend to concentrate on Canada because I live there but also try to do one or two in Central and South America for each pack. Since the release of the NA Landclass I may do a few in Mexico but will try to do SABE for the next pack or the one after. Right now there are just over 50 on the list and I can do about 15-20 per pack depending on time and how many others are submitted.

How about Manitoulin Island; CYEM and CYZE :)  Maybe throw in the Bruce Penninsula; CNR4 and CYVV.  Just hoping for some smaller ones in Ontario ;)

I'll put the first 3 on the list. CYVV has already been done and is in the freeware pack.

Can you please add Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (TISX) in St. Croix, USVI to your list. It's an airport and an island largely ignored by developers and the strip needs updating badly. It has several large and small commercial operations, with occasional stops by the Air Force. Feel free to update the neighboring island of St. Thomas, Cyril E. King (TIST) as well. Since the introduction of Vector, the islands runway 10 exhibits unsolvable water anomalies, that may require redeveloping the airport. Also largely ignored by developers. Thanks for all the work you have done!

If Neil isn't interested I'll add them to my list. TISX should be fairly easy but I have a few Central and South America airports to to first.

I would like to move away from the always the same NA/EU airports and get some SA in please...  SAEZ, SABE

SAEZ is a bit big to do easily however I will add SABE to my list. A ways down right now but I try to do at least one Central or South American Airport per pack.

Req CYRB and CYSR, CYXP. Thank you for bringing CYFB, CYGT, CYUX very much. I believe CYXP will provide several challenge's for typical sim Turbo Pilot lol. I know it personally IRL.

Just starting CYRB so it should be in the next pack. CYSR is now closed so I won't be doing it anytime soon although I'll add CYAB (Arctic Bay to my list). I'll also add CYUX.

Larry, is it possible in cases like Ospika to have trees immediately next to the runwaywithout the default vague surroundings?

I usually set the airport ground textures to match the real life size. The land class around depends on the existing LC although I can make sure there is a forest landclass up to the airport boundary. Actual tree placement depends on the land class squares ( The trees are grouped so sometimes do not appear right on the edge of the land class. I'll try to make sure this airport looks as close as possible to the actual area although it's not possible to hand place a lot of trees ( and they don't usually look very good.)

    Hi folks,

I'd like to suggest these two airports in Peru. Chagual looks adventurous as in this video and Trujillo is a major coastal airport in the area.

    SPGL Chagual Airport
    SPRU Trujillo Airport

I looked at these and added Trujillo to my list. Chagual is hard because the local mesh doesn't match the river so it would be difficult to do in a way that captures the difficulty of the airport. Maybe sometime in the future.

North Bay, Ontario please (CYYB) and the float plane base a Trout Lake, which used to be a beehive of activity from the 40's though to the 80's. We have at least 3 scheduled air carriers flying in and out of here now, plus Voyageur Airways is headquartered here. Canadore College Aviation Campus is always busy with it's helicopter pilot training. We really appreciate all your efforts.

It's on my list. Just haven't got to it yet.

Would be great to see CYQF, Red Deer, Alberta,Canada.

Originally built 1943 to train WWII pilots it sits adjacent to what was CFB Penhold.

CYQF gets it ICAO from the cattle brand Q-F used by the cattle ranch that was expropriated

to build the military base and the airport.

    Regards,

    Dave

We would not do Red Deer as it is in the NRM region which has airports to the same standard as the freeware airports. There is a more detailed version for FSX with custom buildings available at flightontario.com.

Great suggestions! You hit the spot with the US floodgates

I'm delighted to see SBTR made it in - many thanks!  I had an (unintended) break from flying, so only noticed it recently.

I'm enjoying OLC CanAk, and have a few suggestions for there before the USA floodgates open:

CYRL - Red Lake.  The Norseman Capital of the World, with an annual fly-in. The airfield is a little north of town, and there's a water aerodrome right next to town.

CYGL - La Grande Riviere.  Near a major hydro project, it's an excellent jumping-off point for visiting Hudson's Bay and the Canadian Arctic.

CYDM - Ross River. At the start of the northern Canol road, a gorgeous VFR route through the mountains.  Just north of the SAK region.

PAKN - King Salmon.  A gateway to Katmai NP, and a useful site for travelling down the Aleutians.

And one more in South America:

SCTE - Puerto Montt.  Situated between two of Chile's most scenic regions - the Lake District to the north, and the Fjords to the south.  Volcanoes round about too.

Answered this last week but forgot to hit submit. Since I mostly do Canadian airports the US LC shouldn't affect the number I do in Canada, Alaska or South America.

CYRL Red Lake and SCTE Puerto Montt are now on my list. I'll consider the others. I think Neil is doing PAKN. They won't be in the next pack but probably the one after.

OK how about some large Canadian airports starting with CYYZ an CYUL and our Canadian Capital CYOW in Ontario and Quebec to start with.

    CND4 north of CYYZ

I'll add CND4 to the list. The large airport are probably too large to do easily and would result in no other airports for a long period of time. CYQM Moncton was in the last pack and CYXU London will be in the next pack but these are about as large as can be done .

If these have already been mentioned, please disregard, but a few AK airports for those bush flyers would be wonderful:

    PAUN Unakaleet

    PABE Bethel

    PAOT Kotzebue

Also there was a nice photoreal base for KOSH that was released that looks great and blends in very nicely with Orbx Global. I think it had a basic AFCAD with no parking and that was about it.

Thanks for all that have been done!

I'll add these to my list. The current pack will be out shortly and I have a lot to do for the next pack but may be able to get one of these done depending on how difficult they are.
