I have noticed when up close to the scenery both here and in other instances the ground is very mottled like camouflage! Holger Sandmann Posted May 10, 2015 Share Posted May 10, 2015 Hi there, for one the off-airport landclass ground textures are limited to 1-m resolution per pixel. In that particular case, you're looking at forest textures in the mild-winter variant with remnant patches of snow on the ground. If you advance the date by a couple of months they will switch to the spring or summer variants, which look less "mottled". The trick is that these ground textures have to look OK both from close-up and from the air at considerable distances (meaning partially or completely outside of the display range of autogen trees), which is not easy to achieve.
