Bandit
Who said volunteering at the Avalon airshow is all work and no fun? During this years show I got chatting to the Boeing guys over a beer (or ten) one night in the Pub. They couldn't believe that some of us dumb Aussies actually volunteer to come back time and time again to put on this show (21 years and counting). Anyway, one thing led to another and later that week I get asked if I want to bring my SES flight gear with me...

Ryan Mason
Man I thought if you were flight crew they would at least take you out of the orange for that and give you a blue flight suit jeez! (I was in the SES for years back home)

Bandit
It was a bit of fun - sadly I wasn't allowed to take it for a run but I feel for the Journalist\photographer - he actually had a ride scheduled the day before but the aircraft went US with faulty fire sensor. The ground crew had to delay departing YMAV for a week waiting on parts from the States and then had to remove an engine to replace it. As for other exploits that show - I was invited to a aircraft manufacturer do in the city. We were running late and were about to take a Kiowa but alternate transport arrived in time (bugga!).
