Xzorsist
Hi, Had a search about in here and cant successfully find anything to do with the problem I'm experiencing, I think the pictures below will explain it all - why is this AIrport have raised taxiways and runways, all the buldings and jet ways are inaccsesible.I have reinstalled everything and run the AEC again to double check, but it is still doing it? Any help appreciated.Thanks.Steve this is a view from the tower.... god knows where that is positioned?
Guest
Hi, Did you set the mesh resolution at 5m ? That is the value to use for FTX Products
Xzorsist
yep set everything up according to the pdf on site, just landed at Schipol, that it s the same, yet Frankfurt was ok?
Nick Cooper
I can reproduce your error at EDDS by disabling its AEC file and leaving its APT and ABP files active. Simply re-enabling the AEC file fixes it. I think this happens when the Vector files become out of sync. I also think that this is occurring because Vector is sometimes being re-installed over a broken copy which is keeping all the faults and in many cases adding new ones. I think the best way to re-install Vector is to download the complete 1.2 installer. Then go to the FTX_VECTOR folder and delete the "scenery" folders from each sub folder, replacing them with new empty "scenery" folders. (Much quicker than trying to delete the thousands of files in each scenery folder) Delete also the FTX GLOBAL VECTOR Configuration Tool.exe file. Once this is done, run the installer and a new clean and working copy of Vector 1.2 will be created.
Xzorsist
Reinstalled, still doing it... I'm unsure what other airports are doing it too, unless I fly to them all.Any other ideas?
Nick Cooper
These are the three relevant files I suggest you do a search of your FTX_VECTOR folder for EDDS and see if they all look like this. If not, make them look like this, restart and your airport should be flat.
Xzorsist
Yep, they are the same, just landed at EGCC, that airport is the same too. This is what i have installed. FTX AA ORBX LIBRARIES VER 141228 28th DECEMBER 2014 FTX EU ENG England 1.40 - August 2014 FTX GLOBAL BASE PACK - Version 1.30 September 2014 FTX GLOBAL VECTOR PACK - Version 1.20 October 2014 FTX openLC Base Region Version 1.10 - September 2013 FTX openLC Europe Region 1 (Eastern Europe) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 10 (UK & Ireland) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 2 (Scandinavia) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 3 (Russia) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 4 (France) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 5 (Turkey) Version 1.00- July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 6 (Germany) Version 1.00 - July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 7 (Mediterranean East & West) Version 1.00- July 2014 FTX openLC Europe Region 8 & 9 (Iceland) Version 1.10 - June 2014 FTX openLC North America Region 1 Version 1.00 - September 2013 Are there any conflicting addons ? Nick Cooper
I am out of advice on FTX products. I have just followed my own advice on reinstalling Vector 1.2 and see no anomalies at EDDS, just as before. I assume that you did and didn't just reinstall over the existing files? What you are seeing is the airport background at one height and the airport objects at another. Have you made sure that the Vector scenery library entries are correctly placed and all active? I doubt that GSFSX would do this and FSUIPC most definitely has nothing to do with it.
coolgovind180
hey nick.. if i am to chime in..and when i checked my FTX vector folder..i have EDDS files as inactive: ABP. APT and AEC...still EDDs looks perfect in my sim..whereas in ur case..they are all active and hence it looks like this for u... I am totally confused..two diff sims..both same add ons..but AEC ran and then for me its put in the disabled list and for u its in enabled list... Nick Cooper
Yes but I believe you have disabled the FTX_VECTOR_EXX entries?

Xzorsist
Still no nearer getting this sorted. I'm find the odd airport here and there doing the same. Not tied to a region either, US, UK, Holland, Germany...
Xzorsist
Is the 1.20 version of Vector the correct one for me to install or do i need to install over previous versions first.. 1.10,1.15 etc.? Nick should i run the AEC tool once again after installing Vector 1.20, just realised I didn't do it on the 2nd reinstall.
Wolter van der Spoel
you can download the 1.20 version from your FSS account free of charge, I would advice to un-install the current version you have installed first using the following method: basic uninstall for any FTX scenery addon set FTX Central to default/Global, don't forget to hit "Apply" fire up fsX, let it rebuild it's scenery Dbase go to the scenery CP of fsX and delete the entries you want to un-install hit OK and WAIT till the scenery Dbase is rebuild, close fsX with windows Explorer: Go to the => ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX folder, open the region folder(AU,EU,GLOBAL,NA,NZ,OLC,PI, VECTOR) of which you want to un-install the scenery, delete the folder of the scenery you want to un-install Go to => ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\Scripts delete the scenerylib_XX_XXXX.cfg file for the particular addon you want un-installed delete the orbx_cpl_XXXX.xml file for the particular addon you want un-installed right-click the FTXConfigurator.exe and select to "Run as Administrator", you will not see anything happening as it is a silent application Go to => ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\User Documents\Versions delete the entry for the addon you want to un-install FTX_XX_XXXX.TXT close windows Explorer open FTX Central select the region you want to fly in and hit "Apply", close FTX Central fire up fsX, it will rebuild the scenery Dbase, select the field you have un-installed and it should be back to default, one small remark, as the payware sceneries come with a registration key, the registry key for the scenery that has been un-installed will stay present in the registry, hence when you decide to re-install the scenery it will not ask for your licence key again, unless you wipe the whole registry

coolgovind180
Yes but I believe you have disabled the FTX_VECTOR_EXX entries? hey nick...even after enabling exx in scenery library and running AEC tool..i still have EDDS in disabled list! it should have been in enabled list as now EXX is enabled...why is this so?
Nick Cooper
I am afraid I don't follow your logic, you disabled part of the Vector installation and now it is enabled again. This would have no effect on what is in either list. If EDDS and other airports appear correctly, I would suggest that you leave well alone. As i told in another topic nick..there is some serious issue with AEC tool coming with complete 1.20 installer....i hope you people and vector developers have noted this issue. As a temporary solution, is it good to run 1.15 patch over the 1.20 full version and then again run the 1.20 patch over it...?? i hope this will correct the AEc tool. what is your thoughts on this? Thanking you
Nick Cooper
If you wish. There is more than enough advice in the other topic which is related to trees and not runway elevations.
Xzorsist
I had come away from this for a while - put a new drive in this week and reinstalled FSX-SE, did a few flights then installed all my Orbx stuff again... back to square one.I must be doing something wrong here - is anyone else suffering with this?I have elevated land around runways and planes are hovering 30ft off taxiways too. I must admit, when I'm flying also... It looks nothing like other peoples screenshots. I'm losing the will to live!
