klifpollard
Signing complete I had previously had the Bowerman freeware installed on a Windows 7 machine and it worked perfectly and looked great, and ftx central had a button to apply the scenery or to revert to default. I now have a windows 8.1 machine and decided to purchase the global scenery, The installation seems to work as planned, but no scenery is applied and the snowy ground texture looks terrible. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/EC3 http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/ECy http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/ECm Also, ftx central has no default button, and when I click to open the user guide nothing happens. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/ECt
Alex Goff
With Global installed there is no more default button, Global textures replace the default. Also based on your three screenshots Global is installed and working. If you'd like further confirmation please post some screenshots from other seasons. John Venema
It looks to me that you have installed a detail.bmp ground texture that has a chronic repeating pattern. You can fix this by running our FTX Aero Tool (from the FTX Central menus) and selecting "coarse" as your detail map texture.
klifpollard
Thanks gentlemen, that was the problem. I thought I had cleared out any old custom textures I had installed and restored the FSX originals, but I missed that one. I probably missed a few more, but at least I know what to look for now. The game scenery looks great! http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/EVE Now, what tips do you have to get the frame rates up?Sliders, fsx.cfg edtis, etc?
