olealm
Have I done something wrong? A lot of woods are missing, at least in 'my' area (Bergen): FTXN Bergen South: Google Earth: If I add a layer of Norwegian Freeware LC (woods only): All in all FTX Norway looks great! But if this is how it is meant to look, please consider improving cvx a bit (first and foremost woods).
Bjørn Helge Småvollan
+1 for more forest landclass. Missing a lot of forests in "Trøndelag" as well (middle part of Norway) I understand you are using some of "Statens Kartverk" (The Norwegian Mapping Authority) which will give you exactly what you need, without having to rely on sparsly satellite photos
Holger Sandmann
Hi guys, roger that, we'll look into growing more trees where needed. Specific locations, as provided by olealm, are good to have. The NMA forest data aren't very helpful because they don't provide any attributes as to type and density of forest for a specific location (NOR has about a dozen different forest classes). Besides, we try to avoid placing natural features as landclass polygons because of the polygon's sharp (= unnatural) edges. Cheers, Holger
Bjørn Helge Småvollan
I understand a quick and rough search online in norwegian databases and wikipedia the following is worth noting about norwegian forests: Approx 37% of Norway is covered in Forests. These 37% are roughly divided into: Spruce: 47% Pine: 32% Deciduous: 21% (leaves) Spruce is rarely found north of 66 degrees. The coniferous forest is mostly pine. The rest would be deciduous woods. Deciduous forest are all over the country. Up along the mountain forestboundary you will find mostly birch, and up on the mountains some small birch plants. South east Norway some beech forest, oak and quite a bit coniferous. Sout west some beech and oak, as well as some coniferous. Middle of Norway mostly coniferous and some birch. THat is the "short" version of norwegian woodlands

OPAC
Hi Holger. Here are some specefic locations for you: ENBL from the west: And from the east: City of Førde (actually not that much lack of threes): Anyway, regardless of some general lack of threes i must really say that I'm impressed with this region! Thanks!
Orbx Flyer
I think SEASONS are missing too....December/Winter in Norway...and it looks like Summer? Try cycling through the Seasons, and see if you see any difference upon the ground terrain....
