ANSWERED Error Installing VECTOR into P3D

Hi Guys,

 

I had this error when I first purchased the software and have not had a chance until today to try it again. I was told to uninstall ORBX Global Base and then reinstall Global and try Vector again and I am still getting this error in the picture you can see by clicking the link.

You appear to have linked the Dropbox Public folder, not the file which you intended.

Can you run the installer again  but take a screen shot of the

window that states where it wants to install the files.

You need not go any further than that.

Ok So I run the installer it and after unwrapping it gives me the Welcome page to the Vector 1.20 Installer. Says Click Next to continue. Then asks me to agree ti the license agreement. Then asks to select the version to install. Options are. FSX, P3Dv1 or P3Dv2. I choose P3Dv2 as thats what I have installed. I then click next and it says Ready to Install. The first step requires that FTX Configurator Tool is installed. Click next to proceed. I click Next and thats where the error, could not find part of the path C:\Users\xforce\Desktop\Prepar3D\ORBXX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_OBJ\Scenery  as you saw in the picture link above. That is as far as I get. The path is correct as to where P3D is installed and all the way to the ORBX\FTX_VECTOR location. But once in there the only things in that folder are, FTX_VECTOR_CVX Folder and FTXGLOBALConfigurationtool.exe and nothing else not the path it was looking for.

 

I've redownloaded the vector filed twice making sure the download was good. unzipped into its own folder and have uninstalled and reinstalled Global twice then try vector and always get stuck here.

At first, there was an incremental update issued, which required that

Vector be installed and patched up to version 1.5.

This was and is available from the Vector update page.

However, there is now a full version which needs no prior Vector

installation.

As from 7th November, this is available from FSS by accessing your account and downloading the

new full installer.

 

I think that your error message might be a result of you trying to do a full install

with an update installer which is looking for and not finding the existing v 1.5

files. At least, the symptoms are the same.

 

C:\Users\xforce\Desktop\Prepar3D is certainly an unusual install location, it would be interesting

to know how you arrived at that?

Hello Nick,

 

I appreciate your help today. I have downloaded 3 times from my installation link found at the FSS store (Which I bought on the 23rd, so I should have that latest file you were talking about) within my account. Its the 6.6gb file as stated.

 

So I am just stuck as to what is the problem. If you have any further information that would help I would appreciate it. I've been googling the problem trying to figure it out myself.

I wonder if you could fool it by creating empty folders,

it might be worth a try.

 

You would need this in the ORBX folder

 

 

Other than that, I seem to be out of ideas for now.

Also I am still a little wary of your install location.

Ok I will try that. I did have P3D installed in the programs (X86) defaulot folder when another FTX team member said to do a clean install to any other area. So i did it to my desktop. Other programs run and install fine into this folder location.

I have no clue why I needed to manually put all those folders as you had me do for it to correctly install, but it fully installed and I am about to go check it out in the sim.
