I have tried to install this patch, but at the end it starts up FTX Central and shows "Select FTX Global and click Apply".

I do not see FTX Global in FTX Central

I just see icons for Default and Europe

Can anyone advise me what is going on?

Thanks

Nigel

Nick,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I do, as a matter of course, reinstall the libraries after every FTX addition or update.

But to be sure I have just re-run that install again. However looking again at FTX Central, still only Default and Europe are showing, with Europe ticked.

Can you advise anything else?

Thanks

Nigel

I have read a couple of your previous posts on this topic and

I see that  you have recently reinstalled FSX.

I wonder if the reason that installing the libraries does not have

the expected result is that they are being either installed to the

wrong location or your shortcut is pointing to the wrong location

and running an older seperate version of FTX Central.

Can you state your current FSX install location, the previous one,

if different and the location reported when you install the libraries.

Many thanks.

Nick, thanks again.

You are right I have reinstalled everything recently - due to low frame rates before.

I believe I have installed everything accepting the defaults offered, from FSX through to FTX.

I think I remember tho' that even uninstalling FTX it didn't get rid of FTX Central or FTX Vector Configurator from the Desktop.

I tried to clean them but couldn't locate them and so maybe I left them to be overwritten.

I think you earlier asked for the FTX installed list

FTX AA ORBX LIBRARIES VER 140927 27TH SEPTEMBER 2014
FTX EU EGFF CARDIFF INTL V1.10 - MARCH 2013
FTX EU EGKA SHOREHAM (BRIGHTON)  V1.00 - February 2013
FTX EU ENG England 1.40 - August 2014
FTX EU WLS Wales 1.30 - August 2014
FTX GLOBAL BASE PACK - Version 1.20 December 2013
FTX GLOBAL VECTOR PACK - Version 1.20 October 2014

Thanks again

Nigel

Nick,

Reading your post again, you asked me to confirm the libraries updates are going to the current location.

They are.

I inadvertently confirmed that just now by accidentally starting reinstalling the libraries again, with FTX Central open!

The install baulked at updating FTX Central until I had closed it!

Uninstalling and reinstalling is only the easiest way

because it guarantees success if done properly, as

there is nothing left of the defective installation.

I wouldn't recommend it as anything other than a last resort.

You might perhaps reinstall FTX Global and see if it adds the

correct icon this time.

Nick,

Well that seems to have fixed it.

I installed FTX, patched it and installed the libraries and it now shows in FTX Central along with Europe, instead of Default.

Do you think Vector, the regions and airfields will work with that now or should they also be reinstalled?

Thanks very much for your support

Nigel
