SLI - Is it worth it?

My current system is i7 3770K on an Asus P8Z77-V LX O/C to 4.2 Ghz with a single GeForce GTX 760.

I run P3D V2.4 and get frames in the mid 20s with very high settings.

Smoothness is ok, but could be better.

My question is, if I were to invest 150 pounds on another 760 and run SLI, Would the benefits be worth the money?

What sort of improvement in performance might I expect?

Not at the moment, SLI does not work with P3D v2 as Nvidia haven't created an SLI profile for the application.

I have heard rumors that Lockheed are working with Nvidia behind the scenes to implement better driver support for P3D on Nvidia hardware, whether or not that includes SLI support we cannot be certain but I'm guessing it will.

My advice would be to hang off until SLI is officially supported by P3D and Nvidia.

If you want to improve your graphics card horsepower right now then you could sell your current GTX760 (think they are going for about £120 on ebay just now), then add that to the £150 you wanted to spend which would give you enough to buy a new GTX 970 - the GTX970 performs slightly better than the 780 and has an extra 1Gb vram - its a great card for the money
